But I have front row tickets so get to see the Sugababes better! No! I hate you! Are they confirmed as the band?

Whoever's there, do an extra loud cheer for me ;D especially when Graeme Swann's batting What's cricket's equivalent of a puck bunny? Bat bunny doesn't sound right, and ball bunny just sounds dodgy.

Chris Read has been cleared to play for Notts in the finals which is good. I wondered when he got called up to the Test squad that they might not let him play.
Also good that Swann and Franks have had lengthy spells at the crease today against Warwickshire, even if it does look like they will lose. Two good knocks for Swanny which should have him in the zone for opening.
Here's hoping for good weather and scantily clad pop babes.....

Great start from Notts here, a good defendable ascore and Surrey playing like headless chickens, we need another couple of wickets to be safe though, Batty and Mahmood are capable of pulling it off.

What a fantastic performance from Notts that was and what a catch on the boundary from Will Smith!

So close yet so far. A fantastic days cricket though. The demolition of Surrey was just superb.
I think the fielding let them down in the final, and those dropped catches would have made all the difference.
Still, to come from the worst record in the tournament to within a boundary of winning it was a fantastic effort.
As for Will Smith's catch against Surrey, I doubt I will ever see one as good.

Should the last ball have been called a no-ball (waste hight?) only listened to it on audio, as we went to a party, and it sounded like a fantastic final, but after seeing the replays, I think the umpire bottled it.
However, as predicted an all northern group final, was gutted to see Essex lose - NOT ;D

Looking at the replay it was very borderline but David Lloyd called it straight away and Tufnell apparantly did on the radio as well. I imagine that the square leg umpire had other things on his mind as the game was done and dusted and he wanted to get off the pitch. The Notts players in the dressing room did look pretty cheesed of with it though.
In the end it was the fielding that let them down and cost them the match in my opinion.

It was very close it would of been funny to see it given a no ball just to laugh at Nixon behind the stumps who was celebrating the win before the last ball was bowled.. Notts got robbed in the semi as well surrey should of been called a no ball on Ealham with about 5 balls left of the innings..

It was nopt that close. The ball was breast high and was clearly a no-ball. We need 3 to win of the last ball. There has been no winner yet.
The umpires were incompetent and Patel told sky afterwards that they'd been poor all day.

The fielding in the final was poor compared to how brilliant it was in the first game. The missed opportunities that fell to Clough and Patel effectively cost us three runs and would also have removed the batsmen. The umpires have had the balls to admit they were wrong now as well, which is little comfort to Notts. We screwed it up
