It's a no brainer, I got my yellow Gerrard top on. I wore it to every game last season and every game this season. Guess what, Liverpool never lost once, including that magic final last season. Problem is though, for this one I am sat at home Still mind and spirit eh....3-1 to us, me thinks.

Anyway, hoping for a West Ham win here. Come on you hammers

I want Liverpool to win it 4-3 with Marlon scoring all 3 of West Hams's goals. I know he left us a while ago now but I'd be so proud for Marlon if he scores in the cup final!

Ah, so you're a Liverpool fan Rob? Explains a lot, sorry if i offended you.
What a step-over by Carragher for the opener, Ronaldinho eat your heart out. Most would have put it in with their right foot. Excellent finish by Cisse too, how has he managed to nab 19 this year?

Newham, I think everybody's wondering that cus his played down the right 'flank' or sat on the bench most of the year!

What a fantastic game, a great advert for English football.
Both teams looked dead on their feet by the end of extra time and there is absolutely no way West Ham deserved to lose. I thought they were going to nick it but for the amazing brilliance of Steven Gerrard, he alone dragged Liverpool to the victory. I feel really, really sorry for West Ham.

Yeah I am in utter dis-belief. During the build up on Tv i started to get nervous and it seemed like West Ham were destined to win. Especially with their 3 lucky goals. They ran us hard and were good opposition though and didn't deserve to lose.
But as soon as it got to penalties I knew we would win. Especially after that Reina save. He really is the king of penalty saves isn't he. I knew about his rep for saving pennos while playing in Spain.
Man I am over the moon and I just watched the best final since 1989 (Liverpool Vs Everton). I also saw the goal of the season, without doubt. Gerrard is a legend and I am glad he is a scouser.

How can you say West Ham deserved it. Both teams played really, really well, and both teams deserved to win.
Let's not forget that West Ham scored 3 lucky goals and Liverpool scored 3 screamers. Possesion also suggests Liverpool were on top.
Just because they were the underdogs and played better than people expected does not mean they should have won the F.A. cup!
I loved how Anton missed the follow up penalty though after Reina had run off. LOL. Poor lad.

Sorry Rob, I disagree I think the Hammers did deserver it although it was close.
To say they scored 3 "lucky goals" is a disservice to them, yes Konchesky got lucky but the other two they profited from calamitous Liverpool defending, nothing lucky about it just crap from Carragher and Reina. I only class lucky as something that happened totally by accident ala Konchesky, Scolari hammered into the box hoping someone would turn it in, Carragher did, likewise Etherington hit it hoping it would go in or bounce back out for a follow up, it did, nothing lucky.
At the end of the day the best player won the game, but from a neutral's perspective I think West Ham deserved it on the back of their performance which for much of the game was better than Liverpool's regardless of what the possession stats say. Both teams did indeed play very well though.

Fair enough mate, I guess we just have different definitions of lucky. i gues it was my take on the game as a Liverpool fan.
Carragher and Reina both made mistakes that through the season they wouldn't normally make. Hence why I considered them lucky to have been offered those chances in the same game.
There was also the legal goal which was disallowed. If the linesman did his job properly Gerrards goal would have been the winner. Also a piece of luck on West Ham's part.
Even Andy Gray (who hates Liverpool) said West Ham had more than their fair share of luck and it was only down to a poor Liverpool display that it was as close as it was to be fair. Yes West Ham played well, but they played well in our league meetings but Liverpool managed to play as they normally do in those games and West Ham didn't come close. I do rate them as a team and think they would have been worthy winners had they have won the game. But so were Liverpool, both teams deserved it, not just one. It was a shame someone had to lose.
All season the whole team has been pulling together with goals coming from everywhere. We beat West Ham a few weeks ago without Stevie. Goes to show we aren't a one man team anymore. However, yesterday we needed a captains display and we got it. He did his job and more.

Liverpool knocked out 2 of the Big 4 to mke it to the final. Well tried WHU but the FA Cup and EPL belong to the Big 4 these days. 11 years and counting.
It was the best final since 1990 but the importance of the FA Cup is miniscule compared to 1990. It used to be the cup was the 3rd best prize behind the Euro Cup and the League. Now it's the 6th best prize and teams would rather finsih 4th in the league. Today's FA Cup means less than the League Cup did 10 years ago.
Well done Liverpool. A nice way to finsih off a successful season.
