Looks like WHU might leave the Boleyn Ground for the new Olympic Stadium. Very wise move. BBC. What they need to do is scale down the stadium to around 50,000 seats similar to the the Blue Camp, Manchester. The stadium should have a removable track in the same way as the Stade de France. It works in Paris and would be a good compromise.

West Ham fans are fairly vocal but even they will find it very hard to make any noise in that!
i hate all these new stadiums, no atmosphere.
Id choose a ground like Old Trafford over one of these new concrete library's (like the Emirates) any day of the week!
If the stadium has a running track - its for running in.

So you think the atmosphere at OT is good? Even Man U fans admit it can be awful. The Emirates is the best club stadium in the country. If West Ham or Spurs are to move into the Olympic stadium then the track has to go.

Unfortunately i was priced out of "the best club stadium in the country" so i couldnt go. But from what ive been told by people who have been, although the facility's may be good, it was impossible to get any noise going! Same applies for Man city's ground. For me the atmosphere in the ground makes a big differance to my enjoyment of the match. Thats why i will always prefer going to more compact grounds which have some history, such as Bramall Lane, where you can sit near to the pitch and really cheer on your team! If i was a West Ham fan i would definately want to stay at Upton Park.

As for OT, well Fergie and Keane have summed that place up before. Clubs simply have to move to compete. That means WHU, Spurs, Everton, Liv, Pompey, Brum, MKD, Luton, Doncaster, Brighton......... and maybe even Chelsea.

If west ham get taken over then they could be rolling in it so might not need the gate receipts (although i admit thats not really a long term solution) I believe a key factor in Pompey staying up the last few seasons has been their phenomenal home support, something which couldnt be achieved in a place like the City Of Manchester Stadium. The point im getting at really is that i dont always see the need in moving teams into these new stadiums miles out of the way, expansion of the existing ground (like they did at OT) is a much better way to go about increasing capacity imo. To combat the problem of little space do to this in London they should merge all the teams together to create "Team London" and make them build up Craven Cottage ;D (they would of course have to start again at the bottom of the league structure )

As could Elland Rd. Most can't. Liverpool can't generate the cash to compete with the other 3 clubs. Same as Arsenal couldn't. Spurs can develop WHL but they have tube station issues. Chelsea need a bigger capacity to become self-sufficient and the Fulham Rd prevents that. There should only be 5 London teams.

Its all about planning permisson and what you can get.
Birmingham City have wanted to expand and improve St. andrews for years. The troulbe comes when you ask for permission. They havent got it yet to improve the current stadium. But as soon as the local council were approached about a possible new 'Super Stadium' (around 50,000 seater i think) to house both BCFC and Warwickshire Cricket, along with a Super Casino, initial plans were given the go ahead. Now how silly is that!

How very true sunbeam. Im glad anyway, we can only get 2/3 capacity in a 30,000 seater, let alone have a 50,000+!
My point was though, that sometimes its easier to get planning permisson for a completely new stadium at a new venue than renevating or improving you current ground and unfortunatly because of this teams will have to move.
