Have to agree after a shakey start robinson seemed to hold us together especially through to the playoff final, he just didnt have any support. Would be a good signing for ypou guys .
As for wages dont really know if he would demand more or not, vipers offered him a good deal last year, he had quite a few teams after him because of how he peformed at sheff.

I was 50:50 on Robinson returning to the Steelers.
He was definately a crowd pleaser who gave 100%, made some cracking hits and would stick up for his team mates.
The one downer I had on him was the number of times the crowd were cheering a hit and within a few seconds the opposition had scored.....because in making the hit, he'd got himself well out of position.
It's one thing making a hit, it's another thing making the hit at the right time and in the right place.

Doom

A weakness found in better players than Jason Robinson - I thought Eric Charron was guilty in that department when he played for us. I don't really remember Jason Robinson from last season - which can be a good thing for a defenceman! If they are good positional players then they tend not to catch the eye - frantic chasing back and last ditch challenges may look spectacular but are often the result of poor positional play or ill judged pinching in. Doom, both you and John123 think reasonably well of JR in terms of being a stay at home Dman - how good is his positional play and reading of the game?

Doom, both you and John123 think reasonably well of JR in terms of being a stay at home Dman - how good is his positional play and reading of the game? It's fairly irrelevant now, but I'd say his positional play was average at best. A great hitter and a real crowd pleaser, but he's not what I'd call a top class stay at home defenceman. I know a lot of people criticised Ricci last season, but I thought until his injury he was our most consistant defenceman. If his injury has fully healed and he's back to his best, I think you could do a lot worse. Regards Doom

All 3 will be announced before then. 2 this week...1 next week. Also, the thread title 'Signing This Week'...leave the thread up long enough, several weeks...& it will eventually be correct!
