Well its about 2 weeks ago that there was speculation in the National press/Websites that Karlander was about to sign.
Allow for the 14 day 'cooling-off' period built into contracts, and the end of this week is about the right timing.

Well its about 2 weeks ago that there was speculation in the National press/Websites that Karlander was about to sign. Allow for the 14 day 'cooling-off' period built into contracts, and the end of this week is about the right timing. HL Wednesday is also the day that all the ECHL clubs 'Qualifying Offers' (contract offers to their better players not on multi-year contracts), expire. If they choose not to accept the offer, they effectively become free agents, so there should be a significant wave of good quality ECHL players hitting the open market tomorrow. We know from an article, published elsewhere on the Cage, that EIHL salaries can better those in the ECHL, so it's a bit of a no brainer that some of these players will find their way to our shores. Here's hoping!

Heard we were in advanced talks with Jason Silverthorn, ex Edinburgh. What do you think ? Decent player IMO and put up some decent numbers in a poor team last year, would question his loyalty though when hes prepared to walk out on a team.

Heard we were in advanced talks with Jason Silverthorn, ex Edinburgh. What do you think ? Wouldnt say no, put up 43 points (according to hockeydb) on a poor poor team, if he had better service and protection who knows what he might do. Some signing news this week would calm the soul abit, give me a slight hockey fix!

if hes the 2nd line winger teh im not convinced, but ill deal with it as he wasn't a bad player, his loyalty remains questionable though. 2bh id rather have welch than silverthorn, but i trust ME so whatever he does i shall go with regardless of my opinions!

Thought Silverthorn was a decent player last season, continued to put up good numbers in Slovenia after he left Edinburgh. Didn't agree with his decision to leave Edinburgh but these things do happen, I don't know any of the politics behind it, whether he left under a cloud or with their blessing.
Lots of powerplay goals, we'd have a very potent special teams unit next season if we added him; wouldn't lose any sleep if he were to go elsewhere though.

Silverthorn is heading down to Wales this season. All EIHL teams are heading down there at least 3 times this season...

These are the only 2 names that have been really mentioned , so we wait and see?? Id be suprised if its your replacement d , allready , if it is then does that say that the other 2 forwards are not signed or will ellis have something up his sleave ? will be an ineteresting august
