I was talking to one of my son's friends last weekend who plays for the Under 19s who doesn't think James Niel will be able to play for panthers this season because of the new EU ruling on juniors playing at higher age groups. He wasn't sure but seemed to think that this would be the case

Neil may have put alot of hard work in but is quite simply not good enough for this league yet, therefore i dont want to spend money to see him play, end of.
id love to see him play in a lower league where he can get more ice time and progress, he may be getting some good experience here but the odd shift here and there aint going to do half as much good as people think

There aren't too many young brits left that are good enough to play Elite but not seen Mark Garside signed up by the caps yet. Did well last season and held his own.

The trouble is did anybody see Neil play for his age group last season? I saw part of a game. We were winning 13-0 or something silly with Neil getting either the goal or an assist on majority of the points. He was all over the ice. In fact, it looked unfair that Neil was playing.
As for other Brits still out there, Well There is a difference in Signing and announcing. Clarke and Matty may of signed for us. The PR engine could have yet to decide to announce it. So long as there not announced anywhere else, there is still a chance.
For me all the Clarke to Europe talk is fair but last season he wasn't a patch on the player the season before. Add the injury in game 1 of GB, where it is alleged that all the scouts were to watch, I think Clarke will be a panther next season, and Europe the season after.

Hope you are right Andy. We need him here, along with Myers.
I think the James gang wil have signed long ago.

gotta be cheap but at this stage of the season, surely more promising players are available.

Depends what you want from your 3rd line.
Mopes is ok if you want a grinder who wont stop skating and will do all the dirty work.
Which is what Belfast need given their tactics for the last 2 seasons.

Mopes is ok if you want a grinder who wont stop skating and will do all the dirty work. Translation: someone who puts in 100% but doesnt have a real affect on the game.
