After the dirty hit/elbow to McAmmond's head/neck, Chris Pronger, has been suspended for the next game. I think the punishment is appropriate, & certainly wouldn't have wanted much, if anything more in the way of punishment. Full info HERE

Agree - 1 games enough,.. Looking at it, Pronger saw the opportunity and decided to stick the elbow out as McHammond veered right.

Thats the 2nd incident from this clown, the NHL should have done the proper thing and booted him out of the play offs.
P.s. I ll look forward to airing my views in his direction at the 02 in september if hes still playing for them
Go sens take advantage where we didn t.

McAmmond should have kept his head up then he would have been hit in the shoulder therefore being a legal check

Pronger is one of my all time fave NHL players, but even I think a 1 game ban is fair enough - it was a check to the head after all. It was hthe guy's head hitting the ice that seemed to knock him for 6, I thought. Unlucky. Ducks will be ok - they need to try to be more disciplined but should be fine. What a series huh? PS - Pidge - Pronger gets booted out the series over my dead body!

The officials bent over backwards for the Senators, dodgy calls IMO, now this.

Penalty for netminder interference, clearly out of the crease, kicking motion for one goal, know penalties against Neal for blatant cross checking, high checks, however it will fall on deaf ears, perhaps for obvious reasons.

Also IMO Neils hit was worse. They teach you to play with your head up for saftey and for awarness, it is not the guy being checked that needs to put his head out the way of the checker, the blame 100% always lies on the checker it was his idea to make the hit that way with his elbow and to the head thats why he's getting suspended. IMO good call, he's done 2 stupid things now but suspending him futher this late into the playoffs would be to controversial so they've stuck with 1 game which is better then nothing.

I read the comments on here yesterday after not seeing the game until yest and i have to say the only way to describe the 'hit' is - it was a cheap shot. he saw him coming and deliberately swung his elbow. i game ban is fair punishment.
FWIW i think the Senators have definitely had their fair share of favourable calls. not done them any good though.

Well it wouldn t happen would it, the NHL wouldn t do it as they want the better players in these games, although Jamie Mcclennan must be pretty annoyed get a 5 game ban for slashing the back of Johan Franzens legs !!
I can t beleive this Mickey mouse team are 1 win away from the cup
