thats real blow for the leafs IMO his been your MVP.
I hope Belak, give Jansson the beating of his life after that hit, discusting that should be a 5-10 game ban.

So in response to a horrible hit you'd like to see someone beaten up themselves?
Contrasting logic one could say.
Incidently, just watching Barry Melrose on ESPN, who said when talking about the Drury and Kaberle hits that; they were hits, niether particularly dirty, both late . . . . we cant penalise guys just because they get hurt.
I have to wonder what ban people would want for Janssen if Kaberle had been fine . . .

Just seen this on the main forum.
What do we think of that then? THAT is goon-like.

Just seen this on the main forum. What do we think of that then? THAT is goon-like. Exactly, they dont compare Janssens hit was clean, bordering on late but what do you want him to do, he went to do a job, if he hadnt finished that hit he would have been benched, same again he would be cut. No one deserves to get hurt, in no way is injuring players condoned but Im intrested in peoples opinions on what you expect him to do. Bad angles and bad awareness by the toronto guy more than Janssen being a "cheapshot" or "goon" IMO. Yes its horrible to see a guy go down like that and stretched off but Janssen has nothing to feel guilty about. High check? Yes hes high on the guy receiving the check but he doesnt go in high so again its more bad angles and a freak incident than it is malicious... Hmmm having watched it again a few times, count the seconds, its 2 clear seconds after hes played the puck and gets hit on the 3rd. They say 3 second rule, that was in it but a bit late admittedly. IMO the NHL as part of ZT need to bring in a "late hit" rule as its not really interference as such but worthy of some call. The toronto guy (determined not to spell his name) had time to react and move thats the key thing for me Edit:Typo

I have to wonder what ban people would want for Janssen if Kaberle had been fine . . . But he isn't fine so you can hypothesis & dream up situation X, Y and Z al you want. I hope the game between Toronto & NJ on the 20th doesn't descend into a game like Buffalo-Ottawa a few weeks back, but it'll be interesting to see how Janssen and Belak get acquainted, if at all as Maurice has been scratching Belak recently.

Of course we can hypothesise, and its something worth thinking about.
Janssen didnt go out to hurt Kaberle, whereas Simon was certainly trying to hurt Hollweg.
