Yes thats loss of earnings what the players accummulated throughout the season. Mr Boynton lost a tidy amount of $2.9million

JSD, I think you may have the wrong end of the stick here. If you look, it says 06/07, meaning that that is their current salary.
'Compensation' is also what North Americans call their normal contracted pay.
The amounts they got during the Lockout were relatively small compared to normal wages. They got $10k for the Nov and also for the Dec then between $5k & $10k per month. If the Lockout had been longer, the pay would have only been given for 24 months.
Some of the higer-end earners refused the pay to help out the lower earners.
This money came from an NHLPA fund set-up for just these circumstances.
