Can any of you players out there help me. I need to replace a broken blade on a skate. It's broken clean in half. Is there someone/somewhere locally that will replace the blade? or can it be welded back together & is that safe/strong enough? Thanks Gazzamundo

Just the metal bit.

Yes you should be able to buy just a replacement skate blade - you need to go to any half-decent hockey shop and they should have them.

it's best to replace both blades at the same time due to having them sharpened and one being more warn down than the other.

if you go into the hockey shop at the arena and take your skates in and ask if they can order you a replacement blade.

They are 'Tour Red Max' skates. Cracked vertically in line with the fixing screw. Must be the weak spot. Anyway, I took them into the NIC shop before the game tonight & they are going to order 2 replacement blades. Thanks for all good advice.

No Problem, with being a player it happens quite often.

I've broken the blade on my one-90s already, found out last night. Hopefully they'll be covered by warranty still as only got them a few months ago. Have emailed the shop in Canada to find out. Its broken on the joint of the tuck (ie the tightener/screw bit) and my blade wont go in the tuuk now. Still, I got my old skates in the mean time
