.............and how fast have you picked your game up? Got me thinking as most players are on skates at 3 - 4 whilst I didnt start til I was 10, but managed to get to the level team mates were at who had been playing from an earlier age fairly quickly........... Also on makin the cut theres a guy who gets to the final 5 - cant remember if he gets drafted or not but his names Daniel jacob an he says he couldnt skate at all until he was 17 - but is a damn fine player!!! ........... so it's never to late either folks!!! get ya skates on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started skating at 5 or 6 (figure skating) then started playing hockey around 15. I must confess that my skating is one of my stronger aspects of my game!

Started skating when I was 3, and did figure skating. Have been playing ice hockey since I was 12 and started roller last year. Happy Birthday for Friday Kilner even though it means you miss training!!

21... about 3 months ago, the transition from rollerblading to ice skating was easy enough as ive been blading for a very long time... but its mixing it with a new way of stopping and they whole 'hockey' aspect thats confusing me!

I started playing when I was 21, but that was only shinny for the first 6 months or so before I played with any kit. Still playing now 1 1/2 years later. I think I picked it up fairly quickly considering I didn't really skate much before I started playing, but then I seem to be one of those people who will pick anything up fast but never become particularly great at anything either. If that makes sense...
And yeah Daniel Jacob is an ace player on making the cut

I started skating at the age of 16, then when i was 18 i started training on a Saturday morning with the Nottingham Juniors, the same as Tomo #26, and then also moved onto the Ashfield Avalanche at the same time as him and have been playing ever since.

I started skating pretty much straight after i learnt to walk! Aparently i had a stick in my hand by the age of 18months! First competitive game when i was about 4 i think. played until the age of 8 then became a netminder. played between the pipes until i was 17, and then due to politics at my club went back to playing in Defence. Probably not the best decision i ever made, as i was never far behind the likes of Wooley and Davey from shuff at England and Conference trials. Could of been backing up an Elite league club by now! But thats life! lol

I'd love to start, but i'm 30. and can only skate VERY basically. Not even skated for 14 years or so Oh it's never too late, Jono had never been skating before January this year and he now plays on a Thursday night in Sheffield, btw he's 3 years older. I myself started playing as a result of volunteering for this Rink Rush match, so about 3 months ago when I was 23, I played for 6 weeks to the RR game and then had enforced stoppage for 6 weeks for a shoulder 'op' and, now 24, I have been back playing for 2 weeks on Thursday nights at IS. So total 8 weeks. Week 1 I didn't have a clue but since then I've improved greatly, and joining the Sheffield Shadows has been mentioned but I already do something else on a Friday night however, should it get mentioned again then maybe I would consider it. I could skate before I started playing, not right well but enough to get me by, lol. And I absolutely love it, I love the challenge, I love playing against better players as it makes me strive to be better... must be my competitive edge. I only wonder why I didn't start playing sooner.

I started playing after I signed up to play the Rink Rush game aged 19. I'd been skating for about 8 or 9 years before I began playing, sometimes skating around 10hrs a weekend.
I now play on a Thursday night at Ice Sheff and am a part of the Sheffield Shadows development team.
