They seem like a decent entry level skate, I'd say stick with them till you feel confident.
As for how long they last it will vary on how "aggresivley" you skate becuase the more you skate like that the more it loosens out the boot, as they are the 3k they won't be very stiff or retain much stiffness when being used but a loose skate can be good if you are a begginer skater, so really its your call becuase I'm pretty sure they will be structually sound and not fall apart for a pretty long time, so it's up to you to decide when they are to limp and lack support or you want a better or different skate.

Pantherfan has got it down to a T really. If you use your skates 5times a week they go soft as they never recover and you will end up losing support which is why you want a more rigid boot in the first place. My pro tacks are probably the toughest boot out there which is why I bought them, and even on weeks where they are used 5/6 times they stay strong. Dont beleive the bit on them that says they stay dry and odorless tho!

Basically, the way skates are made once you find a skate you like, stick with it.
I started out with Bauer Turbos (lovely - weren't they!) with bright pink laces. I then got a fairly cheap pair of Grafs. I had some various Bauers from then on (3000s, Comps) but then bought a pair of CCM 952 and they absolutely killed my feet for 2 years. After that I got 5000s and Vapor Shifts and I loved them.
What I'm trying to say is, once you've found a really nice pair of skates that are comfortable, dont change. I'm a Bauer girl, always have been, always will be. Other people prefer different skates, but thats up to them.
The only thing I can suggest is, borrow someones skates and see how you feel. You can try my old Vapors if you want and see whether you like them. However, its just getting to Nottm is the problem!!

Ive used most of the leading brands of skates over the years. Graf 709s, CCM 952 tacks, CCM with pump, Mission flyweights, Nike, Graf with T-blades, Easton z-airs....
And the ones i like the most, the best, most reliable boot ive ever had... my current ones. Bauer 8090's. By far the lighest most responsive skate ive ever had on my foot! they were easy to break in, have kept there shape from the oven really well. would reccommend Bauer over any other skate any day of the week.

Lol, i remember those!!! And the pumps lasted how long??? I'd reccommend Bauer over any other skate any day of the week. I'm so with you on that one! I still love the double bladed skate... Can't believe you can still get them!
