has anyone ordered any hockey equipment from this place, and if so roughly how much was shipping to the UK and how long did it take?
just thinking about getting some gloves and they seem to be best prices but worried shipping is just going to make it the same as just buying it from a uk shop.
thanks Peter

Never ordered anything from HockeyMonkey, but i bought some gloves from Epuck. Shipping was about £25 if i remember correctly and they took about a week give or take a couple of days to come

I've heard bad things about them. Being arsey about shipping etc Never used them personally.
Best bet is to find out who's going to America/Canada and get them to bring them back. However, Dad and I were in constant touch via the internet when he was over there, and we used hockeymonkey so that he could see exactly what I wanted.

Epuck for me but it will almost always be cheaper unless you buy something really heavy like a goal.
Remember you will ussually have to pay shipping duty at your door and that can range depending on size and weight.

They wont mark things as "gift" so you have to pay all tax on everything. Understandable I guess but still a pain. As stormbabe says, ideally wait until someones going over there.Hockeymonkey is cheap but its a nightmare at times! Then you gotta consider american sizing for everything and not being able to take anything back!

Rich... I had Bauer skates before Dad bought mine and just asked him for the same size. If anything failed and wasn't right, I'd sell it to someone here. Turns out it was all perfect. Just make sure if you do send someone with a shopping list they do know what they are doing!! At least my Dad (kinda) knows his stuff and my brother was there with him to help him!

Salming stuff is really under rated, it's really cheap at the moment because SalmingUSA the US distributer for Salming has gone out of business and is/has sold his stock dirt cheap, so get it while you can!

I got my Bauer 8000 skates from Hockey Giant and they were pretty good. The actual skates came to about £120, which is a bargain as over here they are around £380, but after shipping and the taxes etc when they arrived in this country, i payed around £180 in total which is still pretty good.
Shipping and delivery wasnt a problem either, as they arrived within 5 working days so were pretty quick.
