New ammendments have come out today..
One of which is
Guidance to Clubs: The use of shorts which have built in zips is permissible as long as the conditions are met:- · the zip is closed, the Velcro flap has covered the zip or the button at the end has been closed Guidance to Referees: For any breaches of the above, the player shall be ruled off the ice and a WARNING shall be issued to his team. For a second violation by any player of the same team for above offence, the Referee shall assess a: - Misconduct penalty (10’) to the offending player.
Note that there is no mention of it being from next season,so I guess it is of now.
Also ..
Guidance to Clubs and players: All visors must be CSA, HECC or CE approved. Tinted Visors maybe worn for this season but please note that the IIHF rulebook of 2006-2010 will prohibit the use of Tinted Visors. There is a serious Health and Safety risk with players failing to wear their equipment in the correct manner. There is a duty of care on the team owners, coaches, managers and players to ensure that players are wearing visors in the correct manner prior to leaving the dressing room. All visors (including face cage types) must be worn in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. All helmet straps must be securely fastened.
So tinted are ok for this season, but still no word on reflective visors for this season.

How many visors are there that are fully certified??
i only know of one! the one done by Ashraff (i think)
so whats wrong with all the other ones, like the itech ones???
I have an Itech one at the minute and see very little difference between the two other than the legal one looks like its going to chop your nose off or if someone punches you it will push it stright into your nose

According to the rules it has to be CSA, HECC or CE approved. however according to the powers the visors next season will have to be CSA, HECC AND CE approved. The only visor to match this is the Jofa one Iv got and Matt Myers wears. It also has to cover your nose at all times

Must admit, i have the Jofa visor (i reccommended it to Rich), and its the best ive had. not as good looking as the Itech Pro wave, but it covers my nose, vision is amazing, and it hardly ever fogs up. it didnt fog up at all for the first 4 weeks, now a small spray of fog guard (available from NIC shop) lasts the game.
