Just to add to my gig list Queen and Paul Rogers in the arena last night awesome best gig i have seen since Bowie at the NEC a few years ago, totally brilliant and yes Paul Rogers is not Freddie Mercury but he has a brilliant voice nevertheless, and you had the added bonus of a couple of 'Free's' Classic numbers as well.

They did All Right Now, obviously, and he might've done one acoustic (I didn't recognise it). Then he did Bad Company, but that's not Free. Was a great show though, Oldman's right (for once )

Oldman it is Mayer. His really good, One Little Plane are an acustic outfit with a female vocalist, its a wonderful album. I think the Go Team are a very cult band most people either love or hate em.

One for the teenagers but are people familiar with Love's 'Forever Changes'? Bought my fourth (I think) copy of it the other day (wore the others out).
If you're not, you really should be.

Hello to you all - this is my first ever post on the Cageforum and I would like to ask for your help. I've been watching Panthers for ten years. Hockey is the main attraction first and foremost, but the music has always been an added bonus - especially the huge variety of styles that is played. I am trying to put together a playlist of 'Panthers' music but there is quite a lot of stuff I've never heard before (might be my age!) and haven't a clue as to the title or the artist(s). So far I've come up with the following: O Fortuna - Orff Is This the Way to Amarillo - Tony Christie I'm A Believer - The Monkees One Way or Another - Blondie YMCA - The Village People Song 2 - Blur Cotton Eyed Joe - Rednex Chelsea Dagger - The Fratellis Rockin All Over the World - Status Quo Bohemian Like You - The Dandy Warhols The William Tell Overture - Rossini Solid Gold Easy Action - T Rex December '63 - Frankie Valli Hey Rock and Roll - Showaddywaddy Jump Around - House of Pain I Like the Way You Move - Backstage Can't Get You Out of My Head - Kylie Minogue Dance the Night Away - The Mavericks We're Goin Win - Bryan Adams Mercy - Duffy Hey Hey Baby - Bruce Chanel Nightmare - Brainbug Who Let the Dogs Out - Baha Men I can't claim to be any kind of music buff and I'm sure this isn't the lot by a long way so if all you hockey/music fans could add any titles/artists I'd be really very grateful, especially the organ tunes etc. Thanks.

Welcome to the board Patch - first person to ever see the music as an attraction? Premak had a similar thread here, might find a few more in there.

Yotes - thanks very much for the welcome and the help. The links was really helpful. I would never claim to be the first to appreciate the music at games. I hadn't been told they played music before the first ever game I attended so it was a new experience. The variety played at games has certainly broaden my taste in music and of course there has been the odd night where the music was the main and sometimes only entertainment!

Patch - just meant that most threads on here about the music are saying how bad it is, you're the first who's posted saying you enjoy it Read today that Hanoi Rocks are calling it a day again, after they finish their upcoming tour. Shame, their last album (Street Poetry) was ace.

i feel this deserves its own thread, but then again, people will no doubt disagree with me. and this is a music thread afterall, so apparently Dr Pepper are going to have to come through with their promise of free cans to all of america (cut and paste from somethingawful.com)... Best Buy is releasing this exclusively Sunday, November 23rd on CD and vinyl. www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9111034&type=product&id=1925067Official TV promos that will start airing soon: 01 - 02 - 03 - 04 - 05 - 06 - 07 - 08 - 09 - 10 - 11 - 12 - 13 - 14 - 15 - 16 - And for those who hate music for whatever reason - www.mtv.com/news/articles/1597200/20081016/guns_n_roses.jhtmlBlack president, OJ serving a life sentence, free Dr. Pepper and the new Guns N' Roses album. November fricking rules. i cant belive it, after god knows how many years of waiting for an original studio album to come out, the wait is almost over? i'll rest easy when i have my copy in my hand, but this is awesome news, and the single 'chinese democracy' sounds pretty nifty. i know alot of people who are boycotting this release for a number of reasons, and i also know alot of people who are claiming they dont care about this release, but there is one thing that stands true... after all the hype surrounding this album, all the no shows at gigs over the last 8 or 9 years, all the set backs and release dates being missed, this album is going to be the biggest thing in the music industry this year (and maybe of the last 5 years). i'll be buying a copy and i sure as hell know right now that this will go straight into number 1 of all the charts it enters, not for musical attraction but for curiosity. in the words of the band themselves (granted, the original line up minus Adler) 'this... is dedicated to all the guns and F'in roses fans who have stuck with us, through all the F'n poo poo, and to all those opposed, hmm, well...' i'll be true to the band and be buying, seeing as they are the ones who got me into rock music 16 years ago, will you be buying? queue lots of people saying 'well they're not Gn'R anymore, they're just axl and a backing band' and my response in advance to those people, have you seen the latest incarnations of Gn'R live?

Yeah I'll be buying, it'll have to be extremely good to live up to expectations after all these years though.
