Think this one might be them just over reacting and trying to be as safe as possible though so they don't have another London on their hands.

You can't say WMP " over reacted" at all Tim, as you don't know what intelligence led to the decision in the first place. As Nutty implies, what would have been the public's response had a device or devices detonated in Birmingham City Centre...? Outrage.

They've evacuated Brum? Like all of it? Presumably just the city centre yes? Looks like a good job I'm on the other side of the world.

i was stranded at work yesterday because of a city centre bomb scare...the roads were madness and i didnt leave the office until gone 7...no buses where running so a cab was needed...luckily we didnt have to try and squeeze through the city

West Midlands Police received a coded warning, hence the evacuation.

I've always wondered how The Police know what the codes are? Any clues anyone? Do potential bombers mail the code book in the post first?
