Its 20 odd years, but having seen Pink Floyd perform at Live 8, it only seems like yesterday watching Floyd perfoming 'The Wall' at Earls Court.
I hope characters like Snoop Doggy Dog, Sissor Sisters, and many other who 'performed (allegedly) at Live 8 watched Floyd play, because it will make them appreciate that although they might mean something on Radio 1, when it comes to being true musicians who have any bearing on music, they are embarrising nobodys when it comes to Pink Floyd.

Ahhhhhhh, good stuff - wasn't the greatest Floyd fan but Ummagumma and Meddle come to mind.
What was it they recorded live at Pompeii?

HL It's all down to individual taste me owd mucker. The 'Floyd' are a wee bit before my time, & as a result, I never really got into 'em. Apart from 'Another brick in the wall'' I couldn't name another PF song!. I thought the guitar playing was awesome, & rated them on that alone, but the voices a tad weak. They were impresive, but not overly so. Like I said, it's all down to individual taste. On Live 8, I was impresed by U2, Joss Stone, Velvet Revolver, & that was about it!. I LOVE The Killers, but felt they chose the wrong song.

i didnt make much of an effort to watch LIVE 8 but when PINK FLOYD cane on they were excellent, and they did put some of the other acts to shame
Another Brick in the Wall is one of their best track's, especially the extended version

i thought velvet revolver, Mccartney, razorlight and Coldplay were awesome but IN MY OPINION (don't shoot me) i thought Pink Floyd were good but not as great as most are saying they were.

Being a tad bit older than you(not much though) I grew up listening to it. It's great when the plane flies through your headphones and crashes.

Didn't really see Pink Floyd as I was having a house party but I did see/hear virtually all of it yesterday.
Highlights for me where, the opening with Macc and U2, Dido and that chap who I aint even gonna try and spell doing 7 seconds(not only was it a great choice of song but dido has got one of the best voices around even if you don't perticularly like her style of music. Also thought Keane were great. Madonna was was great too. And of course Paul Macartney was amazing.
In fact I thought most acts were good apart from Mrs Dynamite who I thought was good when she was talking as it was obviously from the heart but her singing was awful. And Snoop who I can't stand anyway but was even worse live and really don't see the need for all that swearing. Not to mention the fact that all he did was try and get the crowd to shout his name thinking he was important and looked like he didn't give a damn why he was there. And then just pranced off stage at the end like he was something special without acknowledging the crowd at all, all in all I think he's a bit of a ****

I cannot believe that they gave Ms.DynaS***E 3 songs and the killers only one. I also feel that they should have finished Live 8 with a better live act . They should have finished with Robbie personally.

Personally I thought Dido and Mariah Carey were AWFUL.Floyd still had it and The Who were good but the undisputed king of the showmen is Robbie Williams.
Anyone who has read any of the music based threads on which I have posted will realise that his style of music is not really my gig.He does, however, know what his audience wants though and he sure knows how to deliver.

I have to say the Floyd is way before my time but I enjoyed listening to them on Live 8. I do know some of their tracks due to everytime I go in my dads car it is one of the cd's that he has in. Along with the Who who I also thought were really good, another cd my dad has in his car.
