Was anyone else caught up in the bomb scare last night in Nottingham city centre? The roads were closed off from the station to broadmarsh and then to london road island, police were everywhere, my bus went the longest way round ever to get to parliament street lol.
Apparently they carried out a 'contolled explosion'

I wouldn't worry about bomb scares in all honesty. Since 7/7 I've had to deal with a lot of them, and they're often just over nervous people worrying.
The things you should consider about suspect packages are:
1) Do they look suspicious in themselves (as an item?)
2) Is the location of the object suspicious?
If it were a shoe box left on a railway platform, I doubt it's a bomb.
If it's a shoe box hidden in a location next to the points on railway track for example, it probably is.

Yeah I saw all that last night, was strange though cuz I finished work and tried to get towards Broadmarsh from London Road Island way but I couldn't so I went through the Lace Market instead and that was absolutely fine all clear! They were just taking the police tape off the bus station but it was still around the court railings and the "bomb squad" van type thing was up on the tram lines and the tram line was blocked! Very strange! We were debating at work whether we'd be informed of a bomb scare or if a bomb had actually gone with being the biggest venue in Nottingham. . .Anyone got an answer to that?!
