And I was surprised to see only 1,021 turn out at Coventry's game too. That said, I saw a few Blaze fans wandering around the NIC on Wednesday night.

This is shocking! The clubs need to look at new ways to attracting fans to the less attractive fixtures. The league really need to get their act together as well looking at adding teams or restructure to keep it fresh or the sport will disappear into obscurity.

How many fans would Hull normally get? Not going to be any away contingent on a Wednesday from Basingstoke either. Still, rubbish numbers and not good for the accounts.

usually they get between 600-800 per game,it hasnt gone up much since the EPL days. Then again having Strachan as the coach doesnt help matters its hardly exciting hockey the fans have to suffer

This is shocking! The clubs need to look at new ways to attracting fans to the lower level games. The league really need to get their act together as well looking at adding teams or restructure to keep it fresh or the sport will disappear into obscurity. I wouldn't use the phrase "lower level" to describe any Elite League team! "Less attractive fixture" possibly, "less well supported" definitely, but not "lower Level".

I'd say Hull are not Elite League standard...with all due respect to them

Fair point, for any hull/bison fans that may be reading i do not mean offence.

but i bet it was still dull boring hockey from hull, because if they play open fast paced hard hitting hockey (what the fans want) they get rented

Then again having Strachan as the coach doesnt help matters its hardly exciting hockey the fans have to suffer I think you've hit the nail on the head there. A number of Hull fans have been turned off by Rick Strachan's style of hockey and will not go again whilst he is coach. Also, this game came on the back of the Stingrays 10-1 demolition at Sheffield last Sunday. I don't think that result would inspire many people to turn out for the next home game!

Like last season, Hull seem to be a side who start pretty well and then get gradually worse as the season progresses. I'm at a loss to believe how we actually lost 5-1 to these guys at the start of the season. Most of the time, the team look defeated before they even come on the ice. They're the kind of team you can beat in the first period just as we and Sheffield have done in the first period recently. They are a really poor, poor side. Can't be nice to watch that dull, lifeless hockey all the time either, you can't blame the supporters can you?

Hull v Bison on wednesday drew a crowd of.......286 thats a normal crowd for Hull. When I've been this season, the crowd has been 600ish but thats with 250-300 away supporters.
