Don't you just love it how both BBC and ITV local news, who never normally give any more than a passing mention to the Panthers, dedicated practically their entire sport slots to last night's win. BBC even did an interview with Ellis and McAslan!! Let's have more of it please.

Yeah like i said in another thread, Setanta Sports News even got in on the act with a 3min slot on the cup win, and it is in the Ice Hockey News at the top along with the NHL news.
All good. But more of it would be definatly welcomed.

i would expect to see more coverage considering that panthers are more successful in recent times than forest, derby, county, leicester and other sports put together. There were some good shots of the crowds. I would say that having spotted myself and my mates Anyone else thinking ellis looked like he downed one too many last night? ha ha

We have this discussion every 6 months or so.
When there was a dedicated show on the wireless hardly anyone called the show and the number of texters to the show could be counted on one hand.
What with the beeb now having to bid for sports, against the big boys at SKY, the budget left for minority sports is becoming less and less, and when no one watches or listens then why should they?
As for last nights coverage, fantastic as it was on Radio Nottingham (cheers Chris), had Forest been playing then we all know that Panthers would have been relegated to a web only broadcast, with occasional updates on the score etc. Same goes for TV I'm afraid, last night it just so happens that none of the local football teams were playing

Radio Nottingham interviewed Ellis at about 8am in the morning and admitted he had hardly any sleep, partying till about 3.30 in the morning. But who can blame him and the players!

Didn't hear it on trent fm this morning but apparently GM sounded rough this morning. Only caught central news tonight as i knew for definate that it would be on it as i saw that Dennis coath guy on the sheffield game while we was celebrating.
