Yea but we're not allowed to have any fun at the NIC so anything similar is out of the question.

Yea but we're not allowed to have any fun at the NIC so anything similar is out of the question. Not entirely - if there was a concensus in favour, the NIC did come up with a scheme that would accommodate drums etc.

i think an area where people can be a bit more rowdy would be a good idea. like block 10, but in a better position in the arena.

trouble is..... when you say better position... block 11 and 7 are 'cheap seats' bronze seats. If you propose a loud area in the silver or gold blocks then fans will have to (if they dont want to be part of the noise) sit elsewhere and possibly have a worse view or just grin and bear it....

I'm just a snob full stop.
Not wishng to put words in Sambo's mouth, I suspect that the reference was made also in respect of the gradual erosion of "freedom" in the NIC - photographs, bags searched, water bottles etc etc

Most areas of most arenas/stadiums where the most vocal fans is behind the goal, its always the cheapest seats.......for it to work well in my view we need unreserved seats in either block 11,10 or 9 but then there is the question would people be prepared to leave there ST seats? I doubt it.

To be honest, it's a sensible idea on their part anyway, as away fans used to be seated in between blocks of home fans.
And the new view from block 4 was fine.
Only problem - they hung their flags over the barrier, but I wasn't allowed to hang my (small) Panthers flag anywhere!

You can't move people (especially long standing) for this idea. I advocated this section (without proposed aids of drums etc) a long time ago when we moved from the Stadium to Arena. To our disadvantage now this was not taken up. The opportunity to 'house' away type fans in a section that might have urged the local fans to join in has been lost.Right now we could have had a 'loud front' somewhere in the building.Don't believe it can be 'inserted' in at this stage when seats have been allocated in such a way that anyone, anywhere can't avoid it if they wanted to.But then again at times it seems we don't have enough interest to cheer the team on anyway, so where are these 'wailers' coming from?

I don't see how incessant drumming is an appealing idea for the NIC, the one and only time i went down to Basingstoke a few seasons ago i got so annoyed with the continual mindless rhythm i was sure i was going to eviscerate someone!

True, you rely on people who can actually play drums (or other instruments), in time, with each other turning up with said kit on a weekly basis... and then of course you get the idea from the rest of the fans that the loud block HAS to make noise, like it is their job and one of the TnCs of them getting a ticket. I seem to remember the Pandas getting a slating on here because they didnt cheer the whole way through a game we were playing badly, and losing, in.

Nooo!!!! Theres a drummer who goes down to Meadow Lane and within a few minutes of a game being played I ALLWAYS want to run up to the back of the Jimmy Sirrel stand where he sits and ram his sticks where the sun dont shine! His insescent drumming gives you a headache, makes me angry and it takes away what little bit of atmosphere there was at the lane. Everytime there is a chant or a song its dulled down by some mindless drumming. Im sure the bloke thinks he's an Cleveland Indian.

Just from peoples comments on this thread its clear that no such zone would ever take place, people wont give up their seats and people dont like drums, i may sound selfish here but i think thats a big shame. I love the sound of drums banging at sports events, even if they're is no chanting involved its better than no noise at all. My vision of the Panthers Ultras will remain a dream and nothing else

As usual there are pros and cons fella, some will like it some will not. Id imagne if people wanted to put something together and approached the NIC for tickets in block 17 they would be heard.
Didnt sheffield used to have a full on band when people used to bother turning up to their games?
