Ok so we beat the Phoenix by two, should of been more after outshooting them 40 to 27. However Liked the brit line, good goals from Levers. Overall grit and determination from that line was good.
Defence has stopped leaking goals, and only two break aways i remember and they got dealt with well.
Ellis played solid. Great shut out for home début by Askey.
Solid performance and not too bad a night

that was a solid performance by nearly all the players. Thought ellis and askey were ouyr top boys tonight, and levers put in two great finishes. still disapointed with Bergins link play (please dont slam me for saying so!). Askey looked the dogs danglers, i did like rasto but it looks like we have upgraded in that department. Didnt think much to manchester tonight, but a win is a win and now the run is getting longer. Anyone know why they played in white? ? (not that im complaining cos i prefere it)

sheff are in the final they won 2.0 I thought I was in the wrong thread for a second then. Was a gritty performance, not our best, but this is a nice little run so far and we seem to be doing it without being at our best. That's promising if you ask me. Great performance by our new nettie, some awesome saves. He is very flexible and he has some moves. A bit lucky with about 3 shots which did beat him, but they pinged off the post. But I think he made his own luck. A big shoutout to Fankhouser, without which the scoreline could have been embarrassing for the Mancs. At least 3 certain goals he managed to keep out, mucho respecto Scott! Great to see high quality netminding at both ends in the two ex-NHL'ers. I am a very happy Panthers fan tonight.

decent performance
askey was great, made some great glove saves and was overly more confidentbrit line again was immense, i was wishing for Myers' slap shot to go in with less than 1 sec left, but it hit the angle of post and bar, really unlucky!
levers took his 2 goals well
i to was dissapointed with manchester, didnt see much from the likes of tallari and passmore, they looked as though they were here to defend from the start as they took an age to get up ice and played with 4 men across the blue line, but once we got in front that was effectively game over for them i think, although we were lucky they hit the post 2/3 times
6th win on a trot, the streak goes on ....

A win, a good win and at times we played some nice hockey, if im being honest we never really looked like losing but the game generally was quite boring if im being honest.
2 good finishes by Levers and he looked so happy to have scored both goals. What a pass to set him up for his first, shorthanded as well, took it in his stride then let off a rocket into the bottom corner, wont see many as good as that this season!
his 2nd was a nice deke on the keeper to score backhanded, Frankhauser by the way made 2 unbelievable saves to stop us getting more. Phoenix hit the post twice in 2 mins in the last period, could of been a lot different if they had gone in. Askey looked calm and composed between the pipes and the whole D seemed to play better due to this fact, especially Stancok WHO TOOK NO PENALTIES ALL NIGHT
Good crowd for a weds game, pushing 4,000?

yes stancok seemed a little more composed than usual as did pelts. the game was ok, just no real edge to it which was mainly due to the lack of spirit and roughness of the manchester side.

Where was RASTO? Big crowd to see him off but no show. Was this a Gary Moran ploy to get a big crowd?

Good game tonight i thought, strong defensive showing and we absorbed pressure very well. Special mentions go to Askey who was very solid and pelts who i thought was our best defender tonight.
Also, do we have the hardest working 3rd Line in the league or what? Not the most skilled but i'd love to be able to compare there +- stats to other tems 3rd lines!!!!

Not the most entertaining game but 2 points is 2 points and I'll take that over entertainment any day of the week. Great performance by the Brit line, especially Marc Levers who took his goals superbly. Like the look of Tom Askey, made some cracking saves and commands his crease & the D. Six wins on the bounce, things are starting to look up.

Enjoyable game - end to end and played at a reasonable pace. We should have scored more but Phoenix defended well. But for the pipework it would have been about 5-2 which would have been indicative of the scoring chances.
Askey looked solid, mobile and has good reflexes. I like the way he covers the net and positions himself for shots even when he can't see what's happening. One particular save impressed where after a scrabble around the crease our D took the puck away from him then turned it over yet he got back into the butterfly and out to the top of the crease to take away a shot I don't think he could see. Good stuff.
Molin was very impressive to - fine display of two way forward play. Countless shot blocks and back checking to tie up the free man on rushes - he worked tirelessly all night.
Delighted for Levers - well deserved his brace of goals. The Brit line has played well all season and is a potent force now - rarely scored on and now scoring themselves. They eclipsed the second line tonight with their energy and ability.
The defence looked a little better with Mike Ellis playing there - Stancok and Meyers certainly looked more at ease - although Manchester didn't pose too many problems. There were a few breakaways but they were well dealt with.
Most importantly it was a good team performance and they really did look to be playing as a team.

Where was RASTO? Big crowd to see him off but no show. Was this a Gary Moran ploy to get a big crowd? He was in the gym. Good performance tonight. Nothing special, just a case of job done. Askey did well, Fankhouser was as good if not better. Stancok was strong and the Brits did real good in grinding our a result. Manchester looked deflated and if I'm not mistaken only had to lines. We could have rolled 4 lines tonight although the Brits did all the legwork offensively. Molin and Wallenberg were outstanding again too.

Damn - I am going to get shot down now... because I found that disappointing. Yes, Askey was top notch! And the third line works it dogs danglies off! They were our most productive line tonight. But the reason for that is... because the other lines are made up of a mish mash of random players... The Swedes and Bergin!!! It actually makes me want to swear! Take possibly the most potent pairing of wingers in the league, and put them with Bergin... What a complete and utter waste of time. Then take our best player, Macca, and because you didn't recruit the right players this year, he gets dumped on a line with a good Brit and an enforcer (who doesn't enforce and usually plays D these days!) So both lines become utterly uneffective!!!!! Rubbish. Big up to Levers though - tremendous job tonight. Macca is our best player and 2nd hardest working, but Levers is number 1 for hard work! And it paid off tonight. Anyway - I am glad we won. Defence was good and the all round effort was there, but our first and second lines (as lines, not as individual players) were tripe!

Good crowd for a weds game, pushing 4,000? Probably in part, due to the large number of Freebies given out to disappointed Meatloaf fans!

So both lines become utterly uneffective!!!!! Rubbish. You've obviously not seen the last 6 home or away matches, or watched blindfolded. Cause Shmyr has been playing forward, doing great screening of the goaltenders not playing d but up front. Richradson and Macca have some great link up play, shmyr takes a player away with his presence giving the other two room to move. As for Bergin with the swedes, well he does similar job to shmyr. Creates space, give a physical presence that needs to be neutralised giving alot of space to our fast wingers to do their stuff. It was an unfortunate night that non of our top lines got goals. But they are doing well. I wouldnt change much atm as the win continues. However a new winger to allow shmyr to be a 6th d /7th spare forward to come on an agitate/fight would do for me. (that means Ellis stays on as D and we get another winger to fill our spare import slot.

killercarlson dont need to shoot you down your more like kami khazi, i dont mind that your have the obsessive put downs with bergin, who actually played bloody well, i dont mind that you can find fault with a dman even though they all played well, you are entitled to your opinion! However sad it is?
