Errrrr... What's he on about? Are we to assume its the same clown (who will remain nameless) from up the M1 that posted the info on our signings in the firstplace?

Tongue in cheek. Don't quite see the point he's trying to make (apart from what a good game hockey is and what a good bunch us fans are), particularly with the reference to our poster who shall remain nameless, but there you go. Odd article.

Not quite sure as to justification behind the posting of the article... but I do think that people are missing the point (certainly the 2 people who commented on the NEP website). As cov81 says - it's very tongue in cheek! Think about it...

That is the worst article i have ever read in my entire life! Surely some of the "articles" David Simms has written must be close to the worst ever!

The purpose of the whole article was to set up the cringeworthy "pun" in the last sentence. Needn't have bothered. Erik P is sometimes hilarious (witness his piece about the Elvis on the night buses) and sometimes not. He must be a fan though (or, more likely, an ex pat Canuck), as he's written about hockey in that piece before, specifically advertising/sponsorship.

It's relatively amusing. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

To the untrained, non hockey understanding noob, that article could be seen as an attack on the imports (mainly Canadians) that play our game.
Why would the Post allow such an attack (albeit tounge in cheek) on the sport they are supposting to be promoting?
Confuzzled??

clever piece of work bringing in many of the social points that people disagree with such as immigrants and information being leaked. Compliments on many aspects of ice hockey esspecially how well all the supporters from opposing teams get on with each other Extremely funny.

It's not funny. It might be an 'in-joke' but judging from the reaction it has elicited, it's done more harm than good. I frankly don't see the point of the article at all.

Are you saying Gary is moonlighting Milkman? Personally I thought it was an amusing tongue-in-cheek swipe, in no small part, at Sheffield.

I think the fact its written by someone called Erik Petersen and it complains about foreigners from Sweden, suggests its tongue in cheek. But who knows. lol

Found the article quite amusing myself and a refreshing change for a local rag. Satirical irony in the NEP, who'd have thought it. He could get a job with Private Eye if he carries on like that although a career at The Stir would appear out of the question. Far too subtle for them.
It would have been better if it had concluded with some news on the 'Work Permit Gate' scandal which I assume was the reason for the article in the first place. Hopefully, investigations on that are ongoing and the NEP shall update us in due course.
