Seems panthers only seem to win the games which truly matter which shouldnt be the case but thats what seems to be happening
Steelers play offs, the whole of the playoffs and coventry the other weekend.
Therefore i think 2-1 Panthers. Payette Vs Shmyr guaranteed or maybe Bergin.

It's on Tuesday 20th Jay, not Thursday 22nd.
I may as well say it before anyone else does ... all games truly matter.

slightly optimistic in a careful way with this one,
tight game, plenty of roughness and a win to panthers to take to the away game, 3-2

This one's probably best reviewed after Hay's first weekend but at the moment I'd say you have to favour the Vipers over the two legs. That said, and considering our cup form so far, I think a draw or a slim advantage to the Panthers on Tuesday night.

did we not win our division in this comp. hence why we are playing second place from th other group. So correct me if im wrong but dont they gain an advantage by having the second leg at their home venue. Surely we deserve the right to know what needs to be done, and in the event of a tie. have home advantage for the over time.
thoughts?

Ideally I'm sure they'd do that, but as usual with UK hockey it comes down to ice time and having to take what they can get.

such a shame we rely on others. I did think that might be the problem, but it does seem a little unfair. its backs to the walls. Got my tickets yesterday.sort of a shame it wasnt the steelers in the end, makes for a good pay day!

I'm confident vipers will win the tie - we have an excellent record in semi finals - 4 wins from 5 - have a goalie at the top of his game, appear to be a bit of a bogey team for you in your barn and are on a roll. Don't care weather paysie goes with smear. andre is the least important member of the squad(possible exception of lawson, back up netminder), so we can afford to lose him - of course, as ellis keeps saying, smear is a vital part of your team, on the pp, pk d and f. Think in notts it might be 2-2, but am very confident we will triumph in MobilX. Should it go to penalty shots, we are pretty good - in semis 3 of the wins came in a shoot out!

I'll be going to Manchester on Sunday to see what impact Hay has so I'm not going to say whether we'll win or lose yet. I do think though that we'll need to take a lead to Newcastle for the second leg if we're to stand any chance of making it through to the final.

Agreed we need to play like we did against Coventry and take a good lead to the Vipers, and then keep it up.

Yes we should be able to choose the 2nd leg as home but funny old Ice-Hockey/minor sport or not.I fear this could be the start of an 'oh we can't fit that in' era if we're not careful in future, so as to gain the reverse advantage. Sorry to be cynical...

we need to play like we did against Coventry in every game
hit hard get in there faces and intimidate them (especially there netty) crash the net
these three things could do us the world of good and would shoot us up the standings imo, and the best of it is, weve got a perfectly good enough team to do this.

and one of the reasons the vipers are now top of the league Bramley, doing the simple things VERY effectively.... and of course a hot nettie....
