There's no Panthers game, home or away, on Sunday. What there is, however, is a Nottingham Lions home game. A special appeal to Panthers fans... the Lions need support. They need fans to turn up, see what they can do, help cover the team costs, make noise... be fans of Nottingham ice hockey. Right now, the Lions don't have anywhere near enough fans. The Lions are a key part of the future of ice hockey in Nottingham... a good resource for the Panthers. Just ask Mike Ellis - he's said as much himself. Look at the young Brits who have iced for the Panthers already this season... Marc Levers, James Neil, Geoff Woolhouse, Robert Lachowicz, etc. All Lions (former or current). The Olympic Rink, face-off scheduled for 7:15pm. Tickets are £5 for adults, £4 for students with NUS card, £3 for kids. Please - come along and help the future. Just ask some of the Cage regulars for a testimonial on how enjoyable a Lions game can be... Mountain Panther, Lucy, Jono72, and plenty of others - all have said they've enjoyed it - and they have come back for more. Please join them - and us - on Sunday. Hope to see you there.

good call shaggy see you on sunday who are they playing BTW Can't you tell it's Friday? I'd forget my head if it wasn't nailed to my neck.... The Manchester ENL Phoenix are the opposition on Sunday. They've not won any games yet this season (it's their first season after all) but that doesn't mean they'll make life easy for the Lions. I've heard that they've got a few classy players, and they've already pushed a couple of the decent ENL teams close... so it's likely to be an entertaining match-up.

Yep - I enjoy Lions hockey. Tends to be fast and furious with plenty of passion as these guys really do play for fun.
It's rink hockey rather than the arena fare Panthers fans are now used to but it's well worth the money. Give it a try.
Got a family gathering on Sunday so it's doubtful I'll make the game - unless I get lumbered with driving duties and have to stay teatotal......

There's a good chance I'll be there. Shaggy, are you going to be selling Whispers to the away fans? Edit: Hmm, just checked the spelling; "Wispa" never mind

Apologies given to the Shagster last night, can't make it.
But really enjoyed it last time (Shaggy and Keefe have a bit of screw loose when it comes to taunting the opposition ;D).
Looking forward to the next time down there.

I had to leave the game early tonight but not before seeing a Manchester player attempt to clear the puck around the boards and only succeed in putting the puck past his own goalie with a great slapshot. ;D

Lions won 7 - 1.
Thought Manchester played well with such a short bench and never gave up for the whole game. They have some good skaters in their team.
