to try and get away from the monotonous steelers game talk...
any thoughts for the cardiff game?
I'm going for a 4-2 win to panthers with an empty netter

Hmmm, they put 7 past belfast last weekend. however they had a shocking record against us at the nic last season, 5-2, we always seem to start fast against the devils

Not too sure about this one! Probably around the 5-3 scoreline I reckon! I think if we give the lads enough support, they can do it. We may have lost the last 2 games but we still need to get behind them!

I going to go for a tight win maybe 3-2 to panthers, however im a tad worried by the fact that havent cardiff injured players of the opposite team ie shuff and belfast (i could be wrong on this) this coupled with our apparent injuries ( i say apparent because i do not yet know who and for how long they are injured for. sorry to be gloomy but i still have faith

Id be prepared for a very physical game , cardiffs tactics will be to bully and finish every check , even mid ice checks , if you guys can deal with it then you will win , if a few shy away then you wont. Think ryan will be very busy on saturday keeping voth/adams/daschelets in line.
They are an import d short aswell.

Looking forward to this one. No prediction for the result.
I've only seen 1 game (Coventry) so far, so am mainly going on what other people have said about our performances, but I think it's time to mix the lines up a bit. The way he and the other centres have played so far I think it's worth promoting Myers, maybe even to the McAslan-Drouin line, if only as an experiment.

Cardiff can't buy a win at the NIC and aren't suited to the big ice at all. Coupled with the fact their D is totally unbalanced IMO, I'm going to go for 3-1 Panthers.
A very physical game on the cards and Voth to run around like a muppet again...

When was the last time we lost a game at the NIC out of interest? Last league game last season against Shuff is the last one I remember.

think missing richardson might end up being a blessing in disguise as it will force ellis to mix up the lines, don't think richardson is good enough for the first line tbh i would say he is no more than a second line winger,
McAslan, Myers, Drouin - Think Myers will be better at creating space for drouin, as he will draw players to him as he can keep the puck and pass it off to drouin or McAslan
Shepherd, Wallenberg, Molin - This line is always going to be poor with shepherd in it (so maybe put Levers there instead as he is faster and lets just say better, then put shepherd on the third line and see what he does.
stancok missing is a worry though

Heart says that a lot of the guys are hurting after watching you guys lift the playoff trophy after our long hard season where we battled against all and sundry to even finish the season. It left a very bitter taste in a lot of guys mouths (it would have done whoever had won the playoffs) So my heart says we can get a point.
Head says that we have only ever won one league game in the NIC ever and that aint going to change.

Great minds think alike eh Molin does need a set up man. Come to that, so does Drouin - he played better feeding off Struch. I'd try putting Myers with them as an experiment. Matty made himself into a good face off man and was showing some good play making skills at the end of last season. Those rolling turns carrying the puck over the blue line and through the circles were nigh on unstoppable. Given the finishing ability of our imports it has to be worth a try surely.

Well I may have to back track slightly now Stancok is out. That evens up the D in terms of numbers now. With Shmyr going to have to play a regular shift on D (although I was impressed with #41 in his few shifts on Wednesday) it means Voth is going to get away with a lot more of his cheap stuff. Ellis will probably have the reigns tightened on Shmyr because of this, so he will be reluctant to hand Voth his butt again! No doubt the rest of the Cardiff squad will also chip in with the physical stuff because they can get away with it... In terms of fire power, Panthers are way ahead in the stakes and caused our D a lot more problems than Cardiff did. Therefore I feel it could be a much closer 3-1 than I predicted before - maybe an empty netter at the end?! I do hope the Devils can grab a point and should it go to penalty shots - SHOOT HIGH! ;D
