I want to stay Moran tells Steelers PAUL Moran is determined to prove the doubters wrong. Moran, the son of Nottingham Panthers’ General Manager Gary, was deemed surplus to requirements at the Play Off winning club last season and grabbed the lifeline of a short-term contract at rivals Sheffield Steelers. Now Moran is hoping he did enough for coach Dave Matsos to re-sign him. www.sheffieldtoday.net/ice-hockey?articleid=2847855n The Star understands Matsos is privately considering a double-swoop on a rival Elite League club - a twin signing that would stun British ice hockey.

I'm having a guess that this could be Petrieko and Krajicek as apparently these come as a pair Also have heard that #2 won't be back at Panthers to which i am absolutely gutted!!

Those two don't come as a pair and both will play for different teams i imagine next year. I also expect Jan will not be back, possibly playing in France. As for Moran i very much doubt even Sheffield will have him.

who really cares what they do as long as they win nowt and panthers do...
As for Moran i stated when he left that it was only as a publicity stunt and they wont re-sign him and i stand by that now, i would be VERY surprised (and very happy) to see them waste a slot for what he achieved last season ie 0 + 0 ....

Will shock British Ice Hockey? Hmmmm. i think one of them MIGHT be Dion, & the other one possibly Tait. Depends if the double swoopis for players currently on the same team. It's highly possible, that this may just be hot air from the Steelers, & designed to keep the fans happy.
Mopes? I still like the guy, but think he may have shot himself in the foot as regards moving away to Sheffield. Paul (& maybe GMtheGM) may not admit it, but that temp move to Bracknell, & possibly coming back to Panthers for the play-offs, would have been the best idea. I would be very suprised to see Mopes in the Elite league next season, unless it's for a team like Hull OR Basingstoke..

So - that'll be Cornish and Payette then! ;D "The Star understands" "privately considering" Rough translation? - speculative hot air, talking without actually saying anything whatsoever. I bet Mike Ellis - along with every other head coach - is also 'privately considering' all sorts of options... very few of which will actually come off. Ah, the smell of off-season bull excrement.... sniff up, ladies and gentlemen, them's vitamins in the air!

Didnt Steelers announce towards the end of the season that they had already agreed to sign a player that would blow the league away?

I would say it's more a case of having column inches to fill mate. There is nothing on the site, it's only in the paper.

there is no point i think he should go to newcastle or bastingstoke. because he might get a load of ice time when he was at sheff he aint got no goals. he spent most of the time in the box and thats it

to be honest alex i doubt where ever he goes he will get alot of ice time its just that in the pecking order he wouldnt be so far down in one of the clubs that cant spend as much as one of the so called bigger clubs... perhaps....

I think there are a few out there who would happily drive Paul there if they offer him a contract.

Paul is a nice lad but I am delighted he's finally left the Panthers...with his struggles it made me snigger that he went with the Steelers.
I'm sorry but for a top lane team (us, Shuff, Belfast and Cov) Mopes is a waste of a roster spot and I'll be amazed if the Steelers re-sign him. I'm expecting him to show up in Manchester.

And somewhere it says hes leaving cardiff because he wants a more of a Coachy role giving more ideas and tactics. Tait Will be on the move i think maybe to France Germany? But i dont think he will be in the Coventry fan shirt next season!

Moran i like alot, hes good entertainment as hes a niggly player, the liking alot bit though has one simple condition....
he aint on our roster.

As a Steelers fan I wouldn't mind Moran coming back to the Steelers. With a full season behind him I think he could put up some good numbers.
