No surprises here Links to the NEP don't seem to work properly, so here's the article Link seems to working for the moment - Try <<THIS LINK>> to the NEP story (Admin)NOTTINGHAM Panthers have swooped to sign Mark Richardson, one of Great Britain's brightest young talents. The 20-year-old, 5ft 11in centre helped Cardiff Devils to win the British Knock-out Cup, finish third in the Elite League and runners-up in the Play-Off championships when they lost to Panthers on a shoot-out. And with coach Mike Ellis also announcing the anticipated re-signing of defensive duo Mike Rees and Danny Meyers, it reunites three of the players who helped his former Bracknell side to the British National League title in 2005. Swindon-born Richardson, who was a GB team-mate of Ellis in the recent World Championships in Slovenia, scored ten goals and 25 assists for Cardiff last season and tallied just 12 penalty minutes. Ellis said: "These three guys are proven winners, all having won championships and titles. It's great to have them all back with me again. "Danny and Mike brought great stability to the side last season and they had no hesitation in agreeing to return. "I know the fans like them and they are just as popular in the dressing room. "Of course, I know Richie from our days at Bracknell but now he is bigger, older, wiser and turning into one heck of a player. "Despite his age, he didn't look out of place playing alongside some very experienced players in a good Cardiff team that ran us all the way in the play-offs. "And I don't suppose he will let me forget that he set up Teplitsky for their equaliser in the final. "Richie was one of the best British players in the world championships in Slovenia and has a huge potential. "We are very happy that he wants to fulfil it here in Nottingham."

Pleased with that, think mark will be a straight swap for clarke! More likely to be Myers than Clarke. Excellent start to the recruitment. 2 very good young brits with bags of potential and one solid experienced guy to keep a good balance in age.

Pleased with that, think mark will be a straight swap for clarke! Swap with who? Someone from Cardiff? Or, are you thinking that if he does go to Germany, then who in Germany would we want to swap him with Anyway, great news. Welcome Mark and glad to see Danny and Mike back.

Wudnt have thought Richo will command Clarkies wage.
Very happy with the 2 guys coming back. Danny Meyers has huge potential and impressed me and Reesy was the unsung hero of the team IMO. Mark Richardson will give a lot of teams a headache this season for sure. Welcome to Nottingham Mark

Good start. The sign of a good defenseman is one you don't tend to notice and Mike Rees is one of those - just quietly gets on with the job and does a good one too. Meyers is an excellent prospect and seems to be the kind of guy you want in your dressing room. Welcome to Nottingham Mark. I always thought he did a good job whenever I saw us play the Devils last year. Mike should be relieved as well because I seem to think it was Lee Richardson who set up the equalising goal in the play off final.

Meyers, although we fully expected it im over the moon he has returned, a Brit with genuine top potential.
Richardson, what a catch from Cardiff, not many Brits put up those kind of numbers and weve got one of them, brilliant news.
Rees, agree he was solid last season and i am pleased hes signed, just think if we go the same way as last season and hes our only true grinding d-man we could of got someone bigger that would patrol our zone more, still a good signing.

Well im gutted, and i mean proper gutted! I thought given that we gave Richie a chance at Elite league level we could have built something with him, he could have been a Cardiff great, althoguh there is still time for that i think it will be al ong time before we seem him in a Cardiff Jersey again and that saddens me. At the moment Cardiff are getting to used to giving Biritsh players more chance than they have had elsewhere and loosing them elsewhere, we cant really afford to do that. as for richie, if Ellis plays him as a Winger you wont get much from him imo, play him second line centre, you will get a very good face off guy, who can read a game like a machine, he plays with a maturity wayyyy beyond his years, and will give his all night in night out. You got a good one right there and dont i know it

hope its stronger than last years, if we get Cooke for the RW centred by Myers it will very much depend on who we get for the LW slot, could make or break a strong third line.
think Richo will play second line centre.

Really happy with the signings, especially with the re-signings of Danny and Rees. Can't really remember much of Mark Richardson last year but from what I hear, he'll be a good addition to the side. Welcome to the club, Mark. Welcome back Danny and Mike

I would think that Ellie had a say in his training in his 'formative' years. Cardiff just added to what was already started. I also think that Ellie also knows where best to play him. They probably had a good old 'natter' in Slovenia in between the games. Mark must have liked what Ellie had to say to him or he would not have signed. I hope he continues to improve with his stay in Pantherland.

Great start to the recruiting Ellie.
Well chuffed that Reesy and Danny are back, half of a the d back who give their all every night.
Getting Mark in is a massive coup, always seemed a threat at Cardiff
Welcome to Nottingham Mark, hopefully you can help us to that much eluded title ;D
