People shout and scream for the Elite League to show some common sense and then when they do people object and say things should be done by the book. If it was us what would we think? I think most people are after the league to do things by the book and[/u] show some common sense. IE = Make the book read like common sense...

Correct. So why are Cov allowed to bring in another goalie Ermmm.... basic humanity? For the second time today (Sheffield's fine being the other) the EIHL have shown common sense in their decisions and I agree with what they've done. They could make it three in a row and give Sunday's final to Dave Cloutman....... or is that one sensible decision too many! My sympathies to Trevor and his family at a very difficult time. You know very well that they wouldn't give Cloutman the chance, Boniface or Hanson will most likely get it again this week. Probably Carson as well. It's the three stuges big weekend, they can't miss out on the fun now can they....

as much as i sympathise with coventry and their goalie i cant but think looking at this without the emotional blackmail, that he is physically fit to play and if he CHOOSES not to for whatever reason (and in all honesty in his position i doubt i would want to be at work) then it is just tough situation for coventry and no one elses problem really....
In the past when teams including panthers have had bereavements to players families etc, the teams had just played on without that player and imho that should be the case here....

Do the rules state that a team must have a starting AND back-up nettie, dressed for the game. If so, then there is your reason for Lyle being allowed in.

i dont think he left before the season ended, and 1986 is quite correct i am getting the two mixed up it was kalmi who had a bereavement... But Kalmi was not a nettie....which I am sure most will agree is a specialised postion and not as easy to fill as any other players role.
