A big game this one, it’d be great if the boys could get a point out of it, Belfast will be up for it I’m sure

Normally I'd assume a loss here, but given the state they're in, and assuming they don't have lots of returnees or new signings in the meantime, I'll be a bit disappointed not to get the result for once.

A night to enjoy the craic in the home of "the fallen Giants" - get it ? Think we can get at least one point here. "The Grapes Count" :- Belfast 3 v. Nottingham 2 after overtime.

Giants go 2-1 ahead, just approaching half way.
Lemay for us in the first.

That was gutting, felt we deserved a point out of that. Poor defence all around for their 4th, Hazeldine jumped up then hesitance and miscommunication between Nieminen and Lunsjo. Still proud of the teams effort though

Didn't watch the game but multiple people saying we were unlucky not to get a point. A bit gutting that even with Giants being so poor we cant losen the grip they have on us.
All i've heard for weeks from Giants fans is how Besko is playimg injured and his mobility appears really limited. Then he plays us and is as good as ever.

Disappointed with that one considering what folks have reported on how Panthers played. Need some bouncebackability in the next game for the team.

After what was very traumatic it is a miracle some of the players are even on the ice let alone playing and winning games, however, what happened has not stopped sheffield from moving on and still winning their games. Imho and several others before the incident it was argued even with the quality that AJ brought to the team that we would still struggle against "the big boys" and without our best player that win rate is even harder to maintain (as evidenced so far with the results). I think this season we had/have a plucky relatively hard working team but ultimately the quality especially without AJ is not there to actually challenge for anything this season...
I am sure alot of the fanbase and players are happy just to see some hockey this season but it stinks that the club partly to blame for our predicament are riding high in the league seemingly without any effects on their wins etc...

Sheffield’s perceived win at all costs mentality imo has really come out since the incident. I know there have been some public tweets about finances due to game rescheduling etc and whilst that may only be a minority those opinions being thrown about to me shows where their thoughts really are. Granted that could be very wide of the mark but it’s just how I see it some days. As for our results I actually don’t think we are too far off since the return (granted this is before coventry away on 10th if we were to win that and get 2 3pt weekends in a row most realistic fans would’ve taken that before the last 2 weekends) but with a month of dealing with the trauma and trying to return to game readiness I don’t think we have done too badly. Focussing on what we’re doing we’ve taken moves to address the defence, and if we can get some settled lines on the forwards I feel we like hang with some of the bigger teams The issue with this season is steelers are just chugging along doing what they always do whilst others (giants/devils) have not been as strong, last years surprise teams (blaze/flames) have regressed. When that happens Steelers usually win the league through their consistency.

So 2 points needed tonight and then it'll be a 2 point weekend.

Yes of course, thanks for the correction, thought we’d nabbed an extra point for some reason, need a red bull to kick myself into gear today. Definitely makes tonight’s game more important than to get something out of the weekend. Hopefully with the days rest in between it helps them out to get off to a hot start later.

When we brought Farley in, we should of opted for a power forward imo, we are far too one dimensional. I hope I’m wrong but I can’t see us grabbing a single point from Sheffield this season

I hope I’m wrong but I can’t see us grabbing a single point from Sheffield this season It’s been a difficult situation to come into, I don’t feel he’s provided much attacking threat yet but we need to be a bit patient I feel. I agree with your power forward comment but, more importantly to me, we need a player who can compete in the face off circle. In the league, we’re statistically the worst at face-offs having won only 40%. We’re desperate for someone to play on a line with Michaud and Lemay who can win a face-off, play Michaud on the wing. I feel it would help the team no end

Agreed. Our face off performance is dreadful. Needs attention. Chasing the puck after 3 of 5 faceoffs isn’t ideal.
