Speechless…. Was a match with the Panthers cancelled? I’ve lost track of the fixtures tbh.

This vile man and westerdale are cut from the same clothe I'm sure of it! He's more bothered about his precious club losing revenue from a match with its 'rivals' well panthers have lost a whole lot more than that!

He’s took it down now.
Claims that it was in direct response to a question.
Still getting stuck from Steelers fans though

No wonder people don't trust estate agents. He even gives them a bad name.

Yes indeed the man is just awful…it’s always him that puts his foot in it. And that from the guy who has called me his usual “Billy” etc and claimed I don’t know what I’m talking about in exchanges where big money and profit is quoted. Then all of a sudden it seems they’re losing almost six figures from a game. Funny that !

Surely he must lose his job at The Steelers now.

What was he replying to? What does "the shirt situation" mean?

What was he replying to? What does "the shirt situation" mean? I believe this is to do with their Halloween shirt off his back position where clearly their fans won’t want a blood splattered shirt for obvious reasons. They therefore are offering the winners a white or orange shirt instead. The context doesn’t help him much does it? Great post from Ken Feast on X….. x.com/kenpanthers/status/1722721961942360393?s=46&t=QEdGSmXXSqTobwtItM3ungAnother Lincoln quote seems appropriate: “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt”.

Surely he must lose his job at The Steelers now. The moment he's dumb enough to try and resurrect his #BleedOrange hashtag (and I fear it's only a question of time) I think his own fans will carry him out of the rink.

You sometimes give Simms the benefit of the doubt but this is the lowest possible. To be fair Steelers fans have shown a lot of class

Was whoever he was replying to complaining in some way about the replacement prizes, perhaps they should get a game worn jersey from a future game? Or suggesting they should donate the money from that SOHB draw to the memorial fund? Perhaps I'm being too kind to him, but I'd hope a base level of human decency would mean it wasn't meant as a straightforward complaint about us dropping out of the CC and costing them money?

That's exactly what he was referring to! Stop trying to think of things to justify his shocking attitude.. this clown needs booting out of the club and the league once and for all but whatever reason two point Tony stands by him!

I posted on Steeltalk the absolute disgrace and insensitive post. Is this also the thoughts of Tony Smith via his ‘voice’ of the Steelers as he cannot come out and say this.? He has to be aware because the only one that losing money affects is Tony... I’m more appalled that he labels Adam Johnson’s life at £80k The poor guys not been gone two weeks yet and he’s on about losses. I hope to God Adam’s family never see that post & I cannot believe someone would stoop so low, I am speechless. As for the Halloween jerseys & another 20k lost well even their own commentator JJFearnley has said he never wants to see another Halloween blood spattered jersey again.

Perhaps I'm being too kind to him, but I'd hope a base level of human decency would mean it wasn't meant as a straightforward complaint about us dropping out of the CC and costing them money? It was a reply to someone querying whether the SOHB replacement would also be game worn style. Simmsy was saying it was going to be a replica shirt instead to save money. So not a post with a straight complaint but a reply - however one which then used a complaint tone about the financial cost to them of Panthers dropping out of the competition as a justification. So he wasn't looking to flame. He just did it by being himself. In the spirit of Adam's kindness I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but I'm failing as its pretty crass and thoughtless either way. He hasn't learnt that saying "due to understandable changes in the schedule and costs as a result of these extraordinary circumstances, we'll regrettably have to offer a replica shirt instead this time. I hope fans will be understanding of this" would get the job done and at least present a modicum of human decency. Heck just throw in an "understandable decision" in his reply would help Hasn't gone down well at all. He deleted it as soon as his own fans turned on him. If he didn't have such a desire to always prove he's right or in the right.... he wouldn't end up get it so wrong so often, especially when like now he seeks to blame others

You sometimes give Simms the benefit of the doubt but this is the lowest possible. To be fair Steelers fans have shown a lot of class I think Simms needs to realise, like most other people already have, that a great many Panthers and Steelers fans are now tied together and united by far, far more than ever separated them. They have felt our loss and there will be many, many equally traumatised Steelers fans as well. And their fans have been incredible I can say I've lost count of the number of Twitter posts from devastated Steelers fans I've seen, or from Steelers fans saying "I never thought I'd wear a Panthers shirt, but I've just bought Adam's memorial shirt and will be wearing to every game this season". Steelers and Simmsy will forget that strength of feeling at their peril I fear. I know that for me any concept of a rivalry with Steelers is done. I'm sure in time when I learn to care about the outcome of games again I'll want to beat them as much as the next team. But, personally for me, Steelers are now just that, the next team. And one whose fans I now have more in common with than any other, perhaps. If I ever hear "bitter rivals" from The Stir or Simmsy again I'll know they don't have a clue about how to read the room. In fact, I'm not sure I'll ever look forwards to a Panthers-Steelers game in the same way ever again. Given the choice between going to two different games I'd pick the game that wasn't Steelers now. Maybe that will change in time. But I do know that right now it feels quite uncomfortable the idea that they're our Christmas opponents. So much so I'm pretty sure I'll not be going this year.

Throughout history low intelligence pawns have been used to voice their overlords more unsavoury thoughts and opinions. The apparent lack of condemnation of these comments, nor any apparent attempt to distance himself from the same, speaks volumes about the true mindset of Simms lord and master.

I believe it was to this tweet. He has history with the individual. It's certainly the context of this tweet that it's about. As others have said, his reasoning itself isn't really the problem. It's his usual cras way of putting things and his inability to engage his brain and read the room. Largely a point he didn't need to make publically at all. blackandgold73 has put a perfectly good version of what could have been said without causing the offence and upset that he has.

While I’ve no doubt that DS has given a lot of his time to try and grow the game in the UK over the last however many years, if I was in a senior position with the Steelers organisation I’d have to think it was about time to move on.
Sport and society has changed, prior to this latest of many foot in mouth outbreak his ‘antics’ are pretty shabby and outdated. He was lucky to survive the homophobia stuff a few years back.
It just feels disappointing that we’re talking about him yet again.
For me, barring the occasional flickering every now and again it hasn’t felt like a real rivalry for a long time. In the ISL days you used to look for those games immediately, they were really fierce and the atmosphere was always brilliant but I don’t feel we’ve had that kind of intensity since the days of Finnerty v Richardson, Tessier’s move back and forth or maybe the very shady trade with Belfast to try and halt our title run in 2013.

Simms always has and always will be an idiot. Far too many comments over the years and still he has a job. Tony Smith should grow a pair and sack him. I cannot stand him.
