Adam, I never thought I'd find myself watching the Memorial Game in an airport lounge after a five hour delay to our flight meant we'd not make it to Nottingham in time. But then I never thought a memorial game for you would be necessary.
Yet we're glad we brought our flight home forwards a day to try to be there, glad that we finally arrived in the UK just in time for the start of the game on YouTube, and glad that we had our shirts in our suitcase and could sit there in the airport quietly and openly in tears at times watching the game and tribute.
I cannot imagine what it must have been like for your partner, your family, your friends and teammates (both past and especially present) so I will simply say I am and will forever be proud that I got to see you play, that you chose to wear a Panthers shirt, and of how you clearly chose to live your life as well as play your hockey: humbly, generously, with talent and compassion, with love for those around you and bringing joy to so many.
I just wanted to say that when your number is officially retired we will again be there, and that there will not be a single future game when I don't come in and look for it before taking my seat - and see in it a gentle reminder of how to be, how to live, and offer my thoughts for those who will carry your loss most intensely through their lives.
You will forever be our 47, but you will forever be their love, their son, their friend, their family and our thoughts and prayers will go out to them every time I look at the retired number or the thousands of shirts around the arena that will forever carry your name, as we as fans carry you in our hearts.
RIP Adam, the lights in the arena may go out slowly at the end of each game, but yours never will.
Forever our 47

Has anyone heard anything about when Adam's shirt retirement will be? The club seems very quiet on this. I would have thought that the final league home game against Storm would be a good opportunity as they were the ones who gave their time for the memorial game and it would be fitting if they were to participate in the ceremony.

I’m wondering if they’re wanting to wait for his family to come over, it’s a difficult one though but I agree it would be brilliant if all the players could be there to see it

Was watching the Glasgow webcast and Murph was interviewing Stephen Desrocher. Only half listening, but thought that when Murph asked him what number he was playing, he said he wanted 47, but as “the league” were retiring 47 he was playing 24. Made me wonder if they were delaying retirement until the playoff weekend. Kind of think that would be really fitting, but then again I’d definitely like it to be at our Arena. Whatever, it will be a fitting tribute.

Sorry! I know the playoffs are at our Arena, but I guess there won’t be many Panthers fans there! Oh, you know what I mean!

Whatever, it will be a fitting tribute. There could be many factors in what’s causing the ceremony not to have happened yet, especially the ongoing inquest etc also wanting to respect any wishes of Adam’s family (they should be at the forefront of any consideration) I have no issue with the league wanting to retire the number across the board & I understand the impact on not just the league as a whole but also the sport in general… but it should be Panthers that get to do the honours, he was part of our team, our group of players and staff have had to deal with the trauma in a more direct manner than other teams/clubs. The way we dealt with the memorial and then memorial game gives me so much faith in how much of a good job the club will do to honour the number retirement correctly. If the league want to do something then fine but that should come after what Panthers do.

Maybe at the start of next season they’ll do it?
More time for the inquest and for the family to come over like you say DMS

I think something will be done at Playoffs to commemorate Adam, rumours of a retirement by the league of No.47

I think something will be done at Playoffs to commemorate Adam, rumours of a retirement by the league of No.47 I Imagine they'll have some sort of event/memorial for all the folk the league has lost this season over the weekend. Truly hope we don't experience a season remotely like this ever again.
