www.thestar.co.uk/sport/ice-hockey/nottingham-panthers-are-too-weak-to-be-seen-as-rivals-for-sheffield-steelers-claim-4387381While there is no doubt that this season and recently, Steelers have the upper hand I think it's a little presumptious to write us off just yet. 'is the rivalry as passionate' - no. It's become for the most part just another match and as the column points out, a money making exercise. Are we as strong as we once were' - were we ever as strong as them ? too many matches has meant that apart from the isolated game, the games follow a familiar pattern. Are we pretending to be relevant in the league' ? - what tosh. Who suggested we were, or weren't' relevant in the league. Are we Sheffield's bitch ? - how insulting. Has the rivalry gone ? - I don't think so, they still care just as much about beating us, hence turning a balanced article into a flag waving 'we're better than you' rant. And DS poking fun at Panthers 'going all French' at the start of the season.

No one cares about Sheffield/Panthers it was manufactured spin from a gob**** that many of us got suckered into. Yes I want them to beat them, but i would sooner lose against Sheffield and beat Belfast anyDAY of the week. Belfast are damm good club who constantly put out great performances year on year with a great set of fans as well.

Yawn. Next.
More drivel, and an 'article' that I would have thought any sensible paper would be ashamed to publish. An article based on a podcast?! Talk about lazy journalism. What next, quoting Twitter opinions. Oh no wait they've already done that 🤦🏾♀️
Pretending to be relevant in the league 🤣 This from a team who under Fox have perhaps done the ultimate "pretence of relevance", by never getting it across the line. So with their one Challenge Cup under Fox I think it's a bit rich to be playing the big man on campus already.
All I can say is back in 18-19 they finished 7th, and the following year you didn't find us commenting on, or publishing drek like this.
It's embarrassing for all concerned.
Not least, since they haven't beaten a single "big four" team yet this year.
It's the kind of article that can only come back to haunt you and reeks of desperation to fill the Steelers section of the Stir with... anything.
Seriously, Bob Westerdale is writing articles now based on the opinion of podcasters 🤦🏾♀️🤣🤦🏾♀️🤣

The real question is whether it's a ban-worthy offence to make me visit a provincial newspaper's advert hell website?
It's obviously an extremely slow news day in Yorkshire and Bob had copy to file.

Could come a bit keen if they need to beat us and we win a 'relevant' game for them to win the league. It's been more than a few seasons stats to prove how we languish behind them but again if we win a CUP or Play-off or god forbid a League title this year I'd be happy to have lost every game against them. Such as Cardiff fans fed up of losing to us far too many times presently.

The rivalry died ten years or so ago after Panthers finally won the league and the powers that be then subsequently sanitised the whole game to dull as dishwater. The only rivalry that exists is in Simms head !

Good old Fairytale, he got me clicking on his article again. Can't help myself sometimes.
But yeah, this rivalry's been dead for years. Just look at that photo of Shudra celebrating in front of some really bored looking fans, then compare it to the Lehmann one from the 2009 final. There is no comparison.
