Haven't seen any of Saturday's game apart from the goals, so can't really comment on that.
As for yesterday, lots of positives to take from the game. Still lots to work on as well but that's the whole point of pre-season.
Very impressed with Mike Robinson in net, looked very calm and his positioning was excellent. As for the team as a whole, we looked mentally stronger and far more willing to battle for the puck. Every time we lost it there was someone in black trying to win it back. We looked so much faster than last season, leading to several odd man rushes and the transition for defence to offence was also very good.
As I said, still things to work on but from that 60 minutes things are looking very promising.

So, we win in a preseason against our 'biggest rivals' in a game that some have said was well played and a good bounce back from a loss the previous night. Do we get reports on how players performed, or what the PP or PK was like? Nope we get post after post of what the attendance was like and the cost, etc. and all comparing it with sheffield. If it bothers you that much, go there, give simmsy and smith your money, most dont go the Panthers games anyway but only come on here to moan. It must have been gut wrenching that they won last night, so you had to find something else to bitch about. I have no opinion on the game as I didnt go, as I was away, so was hoping for some insight of how it went. And that’s the reason why I lost interest with this forum. To many people using it to moan and complain that the club isn’t run the way that they would run the club. There is a simple solution, if you don’t like it don’t go. I thought I would give the forum another try as it’s the start of a new season but again posts on a game have become gripes on other matters. I realise people have the right to express an opinion so just set up another topic and discuss these issues on there and leave those that couldn’t get to the game read updates from those that did. Agree on the negativity. My forumming experience has improved considerably by the “block” feature. They can moan to their heart’s content then - but I ain’t reading it.

Stick with it, some of us try and keep things on trend. Some positivity might be nice, where it's due. There wasn't a lot on Saturday, but much more last night, it seems. Not much chance for the PP or the PK last night to be fair, though worth noting that Steelers were 2 for 3 on the PP on Saturday. Some much better vibes about the team from attendees at last night's game.

There's literally nothing stopping panthers charging a tenner across the board for next week's game... but they won't I've just looked at the game sheet. Attendance tonight was 4496, so at £25 a pop that's about £112k. The Steelers got about 9300 last night so made around £93k at £10 a ticket. The Sheffield arena must have made a lot more in food sales etc, but the Steelers don't get any of that. It didn't cost the Panthers org any lost revenue, but 7000 at a tenner a ticket would. Well 4496 didn't pay £25 a ticket lol so that calculation is a bit out 🤣

Do people expect you to see a team stink out a building one night then go onto a forum later on and say they were amazing?

Do people expect you to see a team stink out a building one night then go onto a forum later on and say they were amazing? Confused.com That’s not what some people are saying. If the thread is about the game and you go to the game and they stink the place out you have every write to say what you think and it would add to debate. However if the topic is about anything else but the game (ticket costs or the type of loo roll on the toilets) just start a new thread about that subject and don’t highjack the game thread.

Very good tribute to Alex Graham and especially the one to Mike Hammond before the game. The latter was quite moving. also the pre-game video, with the highlights from last year's video transposed onto city landmarks, was good, in general the whole video was sharper and looked more professional.

There was much more time available this year for the video to be done (yes there is always an entire off season but doesn’t necessarily mean all that time is available to the producers to do it). Personally i am a big fan of the new video, it gives more of an identity to Nottingham using all the landmarks, it’s something I feel we’ve missed in previous years. Also Done in a way that the game footage used could change through the year to keep it current.

If I'm right in thinking, the media team last year was assembled in late-July/early August and Visonmix were brought in as a result so yes not much time at all. Looking forward to seeing the video that everyone has been reving about. Not been to any pre-season games but sounds like a chalk and cheese weekend for both us and sheffield. Looking forward to the season starting.

Sheffield's webcasts and highlights led the way for years but ours have improved markedly in recent times.

Is it that VisionMix then do both Nottingham and Sheffield? I thought Sheffield TV announced somebody else (VidCastic?) or 'Ogilvy Fleet'/. Or am I off the mark about this?

Following the lead of Belfast, who have been using N.Ireland landmarks for years Cardiff have also done the same for their local landmarks. It works really well and I’m glad we’ve done similar.
