so here they are. www.panthers.co.uk/fixtures/202324-elite-league-scheduleMore than half not on Saturday. I count 14, with 9 Sunday's and 7 midweek games. normally we lose a couple more Saturday's throughout the season to Arena bookings. But we also have a Monday and I can't ever remember watching Panthers play a game on a Monday before. Perhaps Spik can answer that one.

Sat 21st at home V Sheffield in the cup is missing from that list. Not a great set of dates though overall. On the plus side I wont see Panthers V Steelers until December. The negative is its then 6 times in a short window post Christmas. People need to reinforce the message put across in the survey. If they still make what they want out of it then they'll resist the change. If you are happy to pay and go to those CC games that's entirely your perogative, but if you are fed up of seeing Sheffield 12 plus times a season then you really need to stay away from these fixtures. They were poorly attended last season but it needs to get worse.

Surely just like this season's instance, we've played on a bank holiday monday like Easter/boxing day/etc...?

I wonder if feedback from Panthers fans specifically suggested Friday games were not supported. If so I find that odd. Or perhaps not detailed enough. You ask many if they like Fridays theyd say no if comparing it to a Saturday night. But if you compare Friday to say a Wednesday then surely Friday would be prefered for most?

Friday is just as bad as any other weekday. There is a significant number of attendees who don't live on the arena doorstep and have to travel. To achieve this requires the use of valuable rest days from work and a lot of people would prefer to use them in other ways, this explains the significant drop in attendance for any midweek game. Friday.. Saturday every day is a working day for some .. Friday is hardly put into the same category as a Tuesday or Wednesday is it

I'm sure a few seasons ago Panthers asked if we would prefer Friday games over Sunday games, might be wrong though.
From the past few seasons when we have had Friday games they have not been as well attended as Sundays,Panthers like Sundays as they are good for families.
Personally I would prefer Friday over Sunday but then I don't have kids.

I remember when panthers first moved to the arena.. home games were Saturdays and Saturdays only .. only the occasional midweek games were pencilled in, Sundays were mainly away games... How times change eh

Personally I would prefer Friday over Sunday but then I don't have kids. They asked ahead of last season then trialled it last. From the fixtures this year you'd asume the trial was a failure. Friday may be as difficult to get to as any other week day but surely it's more appealing due to no school or work(for many) the next day. Which is why in my OP I mentioned what they were compared to. Friday will make people happier to have a drink and a night out as opposed to mid week or a Sunday. I'd happily take a kid on a Friday agaisnt any other mid week day too. Saturday is clearly the favourite but I cant understand why anyone would prefer Monday-Thursday overca Friday.

How times change eh This is bang on. I was moaning on twitter and someone sarcastically asked if all the other 9 teams should bow down to the mighty panthers and give us the Saturday home games! Sheffield have managed far more Saturday fixtures than us this coming season, even before our arena start shafting us for other events that want a Saturday.

The acid test is to see how many Saturday nights in the hockey season the arena is empty…
