All Viaplay branding has been removed from the EIHL website and social media. As far as I understand it the tv deal (and league sponsorship I assume?) Still had a season to run.
Perhaps Viaplay have exited the deal a season early? Viaplays share price has recently dropped 60% coincidence perhaps?

Their main business is streaming, but all providers are being squeezed by the need to charge more to cover costs, customers tightening their belts and the constant addition of new competion in the market.

They've also had other people leave the business too recently, including the man who was in charge of sports rights acquisitions. He left of his own accord (at least publicly). He had been there 20 years. & probably knew what was coming...

The poisoned chalice of being Elite League title sponsor strikes again.

Perhaps Viaplay have exited the deal a season early? Could it also be they only saw out what was left of the Premier Sports deal?

Not surprised, in this day and age of 4k Tv`s and production values the quality was rubbish.

Seen quite a bit on twitter today. Viaplay Appear to be pulling out of a lot of if not all UK sports. Scotland international football and some Rugby already mentioned. Perhaps this is why the deal with all EIHL has gone. BBC Scotland states all UK sports markets.

Doubt they were paying more than a couple of conkers and a Mars bar for the hockey. The football would be killing them if they weren’t hitting the subs numbers.
I’m at a loss how Sky covers stuff like netball and BBC gives airtime to old blokes playing bowls when ice hockey is available.

Probably because those sports are ran more professionally and not like a back street garage !

British ice hockey needs to sell itself. Majority of owners and management are focused on themselves rather than promoting and progressing the sport. Frightened to let go of some control and prefer to be big fish in a very small pond than looking at the bigger picture and what the sport could achieve. Some things don't change. Less ambition now than back in the 1980's and 1990's. Certainly the on-ice product is inferior and entertainment level has dropped like a stone in comparison.

Or more commonly known as a 'closed shop'
