How can the goalie in team of the year not win win the individual award? And how does BOC beat Conway to best Brit? Do these clowns just draw lots out of bags ?

Some very daft looking choices certainly, but this is the EIHL. Only thing I can think with the goalie choice is that Besko only actually played 18 league games and a couple in the cup, Greenfield played virtually every minute possible in the whole season.

I think the Guildford coach should have got the award, yes, Guildford didn't win the league but to take that team very close must count for something.
Just a shame that even if they had won the league then they wouldn't have been able to play in the CHL because of their venue.

Why not put Greenfield in the team of the year then lol. This pretty much proves a goalie can play every game so when goalies are signed and the old line comes out and says they need to sit overtime, utter nonsense .. if a goalie is decent he plays every game. It's not as if the pace of the game over here is NHL levels hey

But it wasn’t Steelers intention to have 1 goalie all year, and the two best teams in the league don't, so I’m happy to have a choice on any given night.

Good job nobody signed a forward who only played 20 games and got 20 goals...would he have been voted top forward of the year. Lol

Enf od must be a new sponsor... I was about to correct the thread title, should've known it'd be a EIHL Website special. As said on another thread, there's a lot of fourth place Cardiff in those two All Star teams. Todd still runs the league? 😉

The top 6 forwards in the league are in the 2 teams. 2 of them are Devils. Crawford was the top points scoring D man. Not sure that’s overly controversial? If anything, Kozun’s SP was better than Greenfield’s? I suppose Greenfield gets the nod for playing every game?

It must be more than just taking the top 6 forwards from the stats chart, surely? Sanche finished 8th on that list, playing for the worst team in the league. They've put Halbert in, despite him being out-pointed by Petgrave, so presumably there was some more thinking about it than just getting the ruler out?

Yes, agree, but objectively, you can’t argue much against the Devils that are in there ? Top 6 in the charts should give you a decent shout at a “team of the year” berth? But also yes, it would’ve been nice to have at least one slightly wild card in there. If not Sanche, who? Deluca? Curran?

Quince at Coventry looks to be a faceoff machine? Scott Simmonds again on a fairly poor team?
Even the defensemen seem to have largely just come from the most points, 4 of the top 5 I think, there must be other ways to judge an effective defenseman.

Cernich barely crossed the red line but i wish we had a player like him this season.... Jeez just to balance brassard and i think with his time here he rarely scored a point

Cernich scored a hat trick vs Murrayfield. I know, I missed it…

Given (according to EP) he scored 4 league goals (3 of which were vs Murrayfield) and 2 cup goals in his time here, I think your memory may be letting you down there, unless it was a pre-season game? The other thing I remember is seeing him in the bar. He was built like a brick privy. Triangular from the waist up.
