One thing I've been wondering,if the Transfer Deadline is over and a team releases a player, is that player then prevented from finding another team thus not allowing him to earn a living

Well Coventry have just announced a new signing today so whatever the rules are it’s still seemingly possible that players can still be brought in

He would have been signed before the deadline. The IIHF wouldn’t allow the ITC card to transfer over if he had been signed post-deadline.

It's nice that teams can bring in immediate injury cover. Good on them 👍

Both David Levin and Jeremy Welsh are rumoured to be on the move from their team in Romania... Too much to hope for? Not sure how much weight there is to the rumour but to break about both ex Panthers players on the same day is interesting at least Is there an actual rumour about them

I believe that is where it's all come from.

From what I can see Welsh hasn't played for a month though. I think the fact both are rumoured to be leaving together strengthens a rumour of a return here.

In the link to the Levin/Welsh rumour on EP according to the rough google translate of the article they have refused to play as they haven’t been paid by the club and it says about Levin being kicked out of his hotel and Welsh “mysteriously disappeared” in mid-January

I hope & asusume Welsh just got on a plane home amd that's all missing means. I wasn't really convinced there was anything in the rumours more than our fans hope. You extra info makes it even less likely.

I think we may see someone else come in to help the run in.

I think we may see someone else come in to help the run in. Suspect that will only be the case if Welsh or Lemay is done for the season? With them fit, Panthers have 17 "imports" to choose from. 1 in goal means 14 more from the remaining 15 skaters, so someone would already sit every game if they were both fit. Is there a deadline for signing this season?

Is there a deadline for signing this season? Deadline has been and gone but as blaze proved earlier this week they’d signed someone but not announced it. Also Doesn’t necessarily have to be an import that could come in.

I wouldn't like to see Hazeldine sit out. No way is Logan sitting out at the minute. So you could sit Tetlow or Kelsall & an import forward. Or you play all your Brits and sit an Import D and an import forward. I think it'd be harsh on Kelsall after all he's put in and cant see that happening, although an upgrade is an upgrade. If we were bringing in say Perlini or Cade Neilson then they could happily play over Anderson or Welsh for me.

There are also other options in bringing in players to pad the roster out to allow us to play 4 lines, doesn’t have to be a “statement” signing so to speak. It will be interesting to see if there is anything incoming, I just think it would be surprising if not especially as that 8th place is realistically up for grabs

With the transfer deadline being February 15th, you would think any as yet potentially unannounced signing would be announced anytime now. I would suggest if there isn't an announcement in the next few days then there's no one incoming.
The team would want the player here as soon as possible so there's no reason to wait so long to announce a signing, unless the player is not immediately available for some reason, or if there's still a doubt as to if the potential signing will actually get to Nottingham.
Fingers crossed someone is incoming, I can't see it myself. Hopefully I'm wrong, especially when we still have a chance of getting at least 8th position..

Largely wishful thinking. Hopefully we'll be having to choose which import to healthy scratch very soon.

I can only think that you might have signed a player and completed the registration of the transfer, but were waiting on a visa. Still seems to be a case of 2+2=5 and I doubt anything will happen now.

Don’t see the point tbh.
Season is a write off league wise. The only positive being there’s a number of players that you’d look to bring back next time to be more competitive.

I Given the circumstances we’ve faced this season the league isn’t a write off imo. There has just been a massive shift in what the goal is. We are in with a shout of qualifying for the playoffs which let’s face it none of us expected only a few weeks ago. In usual circumstances sneaking 8th would quite frankly be a disgusting outcome to a season for us… this year it would be a great achievement. If there is something that can still be done to help the team in the congested fixture period to rotate 4 lines, give people a rest/cover injuries then we should try to do it if something is possible.

Rather bizarrely, it will probably be the first season in many years where the last 3 or 4 games are actually crucial. Only year in recent times where the end would have been huge was 19-20, but Covid ruined that.

I know this is probably 24/25 rumours but at Saturday's game heard rumours that all coaches and around 8 players already signed for next year then also heard that no one was returning so probably truth somewhere in between 🤔

I think we've got the nucleus of a good team if we can keep the right players from the team and bring in stronger players for some of the other positions
