I don’t think you can sack a coach this early at all. I hope they change some players (although again would be very early to do that) and bring in physicality. When GG came in he described a physical team and I want to see what he would do with a physical team.

Nice stuff from Pacha yet again but to be making such a statement after so few games is a bit of a worry. Even more so when Pacha himself must have had a decent hand in putting an imbalanced roster together. Don’t forget they’ve only got six changes they can make and they’ll need to keep at least one or two of those back in case they’re needed later in the season. |

They've got 5 changes Iggy, we've got 15 imports already and we're allowed 20. Brits can't really be changed can they, unless we can get Ollie back from Hungary or wherever he went.
TBH I'm not sure about this statement, it sounds good of course, but as Jord says it's very early (do we get part 2 if Steelers spank us on Sunday?), and it kinda chucks GG under the bus while making Pach look good - as Iggy says how much of this lot are Pach and how much GG?
We seem to have jumped from start of season to Panthers' Christmas/Neil Black's Meet The Fans Night in the space of 4 games.
Anyway, we'll see if it works.

I didn't think there was a rule against sacking coaches a few games into a season...
Also who thinks we would have lost 1-6 last night with the same players if Adam Keefe was behind the bench?

Also who thinks we would have lost 1-6 last night with the same players if Adam Keefe was behind the bench? problem with it though is other coach’s will see how fast GG was let go and might be worried about to security of the job, also giving a coach a team of players he didn’t sign who a lot of people agree is a not balanced at all. |

As welcome as the statement is, it certainly serves to further reinforce a 'culture change' within the club.
However..
Where Omar says it was a 'superb crowd' he can't possible be referring to the overall attendance. I was surprised to see so many empty seats especially against recent games and with it being a Saturday night & the club announcing it had 'guests'.
Maybe the actions of the club... or rather inaction in the past have left many ex fans reluctant to return even with this new culture (not forgetting the cost of living crisis). So for me on that he's blowing smoke on that point...
And he couldn't possibly be referring to the noisy block who were next to silent all night & are getting quieter by the game.
Generally Coaches who are new to the league & who have never played here before have tended to struggle for whateverreason.
So to me it's not surprising that GG is also struggling despite saying all the right things up until now.
Saying And doing are two totally different things.

True it’s only five changes left,so basically they can change maybe only three at present. Wonder what would happen if they changed a couple and half a dozen other players then said “sod this were off” and jumped ship leaving only about nine or ten imports but the EIHL signing limit had been reached ? Lol 🤔🤣 |

"Talk The Talk" and "Walk The Walk" spring to mind.
Forget all the annual twaddle coming out of the mouth of 'League Big Cheese Tony Smith' about the standard of the Elite League rising each year. The standard is going backwards and just compare this season's rosters with those of five years back.
We have a Head Coach whose knowledge of the sport in the UK is virtually zilch. We have a number of players new to this country who either have not or cannot learn quickly and adjust their games respectively.
We simply MUST improve . . . or else ?

I'd be throwing him under the bus too.. the players were that bad on Saturday it could never have been down to player ability. I saw better displays by Edinburgh when they were getting tonked every week !
Even if the team is unbalanced you get better individual displays than that

Having listened to Dubeau's interview with Jono, the main reason he came here was GG. Wonder how many other imports are in that same boat?
