That could be bad news for the EIHL and perhaps British hockey as a whole.
Hopefully coverage of GB games stays. Im sure and current deal in place with be kept until it expires.
As far as the EIHL is concerned I can see it still getting coverage, but I could equally see them pulling the plug on the league sponsorship deal when the current one expires.

Viaplay have the UK streaming rights to the CHL from season 24/25. I think next seasons rights were owned by Premier Viaplay also have the UK streaming rights To the IIHF Championships from 2024. Again I assume next year's rights were with Premier (including GB) Whether that deal stays in place for next season who & beyond who knows. The biggest question as you say is what happens to the EIHL tv deal and sponsorship by Premier now (who were due to pay increase in monies to the EIHL compared to last season). Be interesting to see what happens to Freesports going forward too.

It was mentioned on another thread a few months back. The UK streaming rights were amongst the first set of sporting rights Viaplay announced they had acquired Apparently the deal allows them to stream (and maybe now televise?) every single NHL game in the UK, If they did that it would effectively leave NHL TV over here redundant. kievthegreat I can't believe you moved from your seat in block 15. Think of all of those conversations you could have had with Neil Black on the few occasions that he took in a game...😁

Couldn't really turn down £400 off the price of my season tickets! I am curious whether he really wanted those seats for when he has extra guests, or whether I was really annoying and he just wanted me as far away as possible.

NHL have allready blocked Europe and the Middle east, whatever Viaplay have paid outweighs the subscriber fees from individual memberships. Viaplay will get more subscribers as it will be a multisport package, or at least that will be their hope, so the economics do make sense. I just hope viaplay allow us to stream whatever game we want and not just a selection. That would ruin the NHL for me.
