I don't think we have any worries as to where goals are going to come from with this squad, and that's with 3 forwards left to sign.

A warm welcome to Andrew Johnston, should be a good player if his last season in the EIHL is anything to go off www.eliteprospects.com/player/49105/andrew-johnstonwww.panthers.co.uk/home/220719-johnston-joinsAnother player who has scored a minimum of 20 goals in their time in the EIHL. He was also a team mate of Ferrara in 19/20 so there could be some already established chemistry there. I know some people see the French league as a level below the EIHL but he was there before his season in our league and he had a good impact for Coventry. A solid addition to the top 6 forwards imo.

Solid pickup. No complaints here.

And Johnston played on the line with Ferrara at Coventry so there's chemistry there....love this year's production so far

I would say he would become third line centre behind Welsh and Brady. This in turn with that many labelled as centres that Sorensen will be used as a winger

We’re starting to look really deep in the forward lines I feel, interesting that Johnston states he’s a centre in his interview with Dan Kerry.

Ferrara followed Johnston over to Bordeaux in 20/21 season too, so there’s a clear friendship there.
Johnston plays with an edge, picks up some decent PIMS for someone who is a consistent point scorer and with that remains good on +-.
Not a marquee signing, but a good pickup who fits the mould, at a good age and comes in motivated to win.

We have a very good core of solid players who all look like they have the ability to contribute at this level. A few studs in there now and hopefully a few more to come to fill certain roles. There is still a chance, as ever it doesn't work out for 1 or 2 guys. Difference is it's hard to look at this team and think it's going to be a complete failure. I cant see us discussing which of 6 or 7 need gassing first. If we were to need to at all it may just be one who finds it hard. Thatd be the same for any team, any season. The level of recruitment is such that we really do look deep, especially in the forward lines.

Without wishing to be negative, but... Let's not get too carried away. 3 forwards left to sign, and we now have 6 "top 6" forwards. 6 players who have, surely, loads of points in them. I'd love to think the last 3 (maybe 2 if we sign another import netminder, as has been hinted) are newly ex-AHL wingers but in reality, it looks a bit like at least 2/3rds of a third line is needed? Some grit, some sandpaper, some nastiness. We now have the points and speed? I'm not sure the signings are being announced "bottom up" (points-wise anyway)?

We have been linked with Hunt, that should help fill that void.

TBH I'm not expecting a blockbuster last 2 forward signing. I'm hoping more for a "1b" netminder and a solid 25-35 point last 2 forwards to slot in the third line (Hunt would be fine for one of them, for me). That looks, to me, what is now needed. As Jono's said, the roster doesn't exactly look short of goals already. I hark back a few seasons ago, when the last forward was hyped (mostly internally on here) to be a marquee signing and it was Hurtubise. Poor chap was damned before he'd started, despite having a 46 point season on a somewhat underwhelming team.

It doesn't look like we'll be hoping our last forward is a 30 goal man like before .. Hunt will be a far better version than Tous, he should be good for 10-15 goals I reckon and will be decent agitator too
