Yep, just confirmed in briefing that entry to nightclubs and other crowded indoor events will require Covid passports. I agree that you can still catch Covid if double jabbed, but evidence seems to show that transmission is reduced if double jabbed. These passports are a temporary measure to provide reassurance for certain mass events. The requirement for them will dissipate if the hospital admissions stay low enough. Fingers are crossed

Fingers are crossed Well yes, the next few months are a big test. The nightclub announcement this afternoon points to the use of blackmail to get people jabbed. Again I'm all for this as the more jabbed the better. If you want to enjoy your life, get jabbed. So maybe the passports will hang around for a while to get the younger generation & the non believers on board.

Anybody else worried that an increase in restrictions and obstacles for entry will put a dent in club on the door income? A reduced supporter pool surely means lower income, especially for some clubs with a smaller fan base.

I think it's inevitable there will be a slightly lower fan base & this appears to have been accounted for in the quality of imports that have been signed by all teams so far. I know that Panthers on ice budget is lower this upcoming season than previous.

I'm saying that all teams lowering their on ice budgets in these times is responsible practice imo but there are possibly some posters who seek for the negatives in all scenario's who would differ.

Jord, completely off topic but have you heard that NB is installing one of his sons at Panthers to start running things? a couple of customers have mentioned it.

You’d have thought Mr Black would have learned his lesson about employing his family at Panthers, seeing as last time he employed a relative it lasted about five minutes and didn’t end well to say the least ! 🤣

I think it’s a very difficult situation at the moment. I believe there are considerations for a 4th lockdown in the autumn if the virus situation becomes worse.
If events do go ahead you would think that having evidence of being vaccinated and perhaps wearing masks would be required?
It’s a difficult one - I haven’t bought a season ticket - there is too much uncertainty - very much play it by ear.

Life has to change and adapt for a lot of things to try to go back to how we used to live

They do seem to be in danger of protesting too much with this latest delay ("With the vast majority of our season tickets now renewed...").
Poor communications about these missing 5 games too. They definitely suggested July.

They definitely suggested July. I think some clarity on the missed games would perhaps convince some people that may be holding out. The longer they wait, the more I think they've got a really unpopular solution they want to not reveal until after season ticket renewals.

Clan dropped their Direct Debit payment option for season tickets, citing: "the highly difficult economic climate and pressures that is placing on the club" as the reason why not. Then I seen it's only Clan & Panthers that have dropped this option. Does that mean the Panthers are struggling too? I can't see how that's likely in all honesty.

Wouldn't surprise me if the cancellation of 19/20 left a big hole in finances that Panthers and Clan want plugged in full before spending on next season. Plus in Clan's case, if they take over running the arena they probably have a lot of hiring and expenses in the coming 3 months before a puck is even dropped.

Plus as we've not got any overseas holidays booked, we are planning on making more away games so need to get planning some trips.

I'm pretty sure that the club announced that the games due from the previous season ticket would be announced when the fixtures were announced.
