What's this all about then? A lot of the other UK based Brits are playing in the NIHL Spring Cup, but none of ours have signed up. Would that be through choice, or would they be not allowed to ?

I am assuming there might be a lower pay packet in the NIHL certainly not up to Elite League standard. Take into account travel etc and possibly other work commitments it might not be worth the effort? I suppose the training would be a good reason for making a move in the direction of the NIHL Spring Cup as there could be a sniff of the Elite League season going ahead in some form therefore being close to match fitness would prove of benefit.

Moran will have got the brown envelopes out of the sock drawer. Either that or nobody wants Panthers Brits.

Could be contractual I suppose? Having spent time in hockey players dressing rooms pre and post games envelopes out of the sock drawer would not appeal unless laundered beforehand. Choice of the term laundered might sound illegal but this would be purely be relating to the socks of course.

My guess would be it’s contractual with some players being paid all year round. Presumably if a player is on a multi year EIHL deal then he could only go to the NIHL if his club agreed to the temporary transfer. And we all know how awkward Panthers can be about such things !
