Would Panthers care to issue fans with an update as regards the outstanding five home games ( 4 league plus playoff quarter final ) "outstanding" on the 2019/2020 season ticket package ? Other clubs have made statements but nothing from the Panthers? Several options could be considered but so far just silence.

Apparently the refunds have been completed today but it might take a week to hit your bank account.

Thank you but I think the statement relates to tickets purchased for individual games rather than actual season tickets. There have been mixed messages from other clubs but at least they have attempted to clarify what their intentions are. All that I would like is for some clarity from Panthers. Is that asking too much for their ever loyal supporters ?

It's more down to Panthers just don't know what to do more than just not telling the fans.
Other teams are grasping at things/desperation in the hope they see a full 2020/1 season.. complete pie in the sky now in my opinion

As I’ve said before, what does it cost to keep an EIHL office just ticking over ? Not a lot, especially for the half dozen small teams.

Don’t agree, with fans increasing last season mothballing for a 12 month I think would drive a lot of people away, no hockey for a year will give people an opportunity to find a alternative to hockey, and that could be catastrophic. Die hards May take it on the chin maybe, then clubs that don’t have a Motorpoint Arena to offer other events, like most other rinks would probably close due to no income, and when these -places close its difficult to reopen,it’s true no one knows when we are going to get back on track, but with a good 5 months still to go, why the hell would you jeopardise the league’s future. We could be back to possible normality by July/Aug hopefully.

Would be easier just sacking the 20/21 off and get ready for the year after. Its quite possible people will find a alternative but thats how it is unfortunately

Sorry mate didn’t know you were a fortune teller, and thanks for saying it as it is, You have your views I have mine sorry that my views are less relevant than yours. And it’s not just about losing fans it’s about losing facilities, but when you have never encountered those problems, it probably doesn’t come into your thinking. Anyway stay safe and we will see.

Anyone who thinks things will be honky dorey in july are living in a dream world and are in denial. The worst of the virus may be over but it still wont be safe filling rinks/arenas with fans so soon after. Games behind closed doors would definalty spell the end of the league as theyll have no income and still would need to find funds to pay tbr players!

I said July / Aug in fairness and I most certainly ain’t in denial, and the worst of the virus I don’t think is over yet, although it would be good if you were right, like you usually are. So the Magic 5 ain’t a option, although I wouldn’t go to that. Stay safe everyone.

Hasn’t Wimbledon been postponed now? That’s in August

Hasn’t Wimbledon been postponed now? That’s in August July. But yes I think an on-time start to next season seems very unlikely at this point.

We could be back to possible normality by July/Aug hopefully. If you mean 2021 you are nearer the mark. Anything else is fantasy.

There’s a lot of doom and gloom around at the minute, so I’m going to try and be positive and I believe we will see season 20/21 take place in some form.
Even if we have to delay the start of the season to October, or possibly even November or December, it’s still possible to salvage something out of it. If there were a delayed start then we would have to reduce the amount of games we play, but, we could do away with the challenge cup meaning we don’t have to lose as many league games. The season could also run on through to the end of April if needs be, it would of course have to finish a couple of weeks before the World Championship’s to allow preparation for that.
Going back to the topic, I won’t be looking for a refund for the games we’ve not played. I made a commitment at the start of the season and paid for my ticket/s so in terms of financial planning that money is gone. I don’t need it and if it helps the club stay competitive then I’m all for them keeping it. I know not everyone has the same situation and some people may now need that money, but I’d hope other people may look at it the same way, to make us as competitive as people going forward.

We're talking possibly 20K deaths over the coming 2 Months in the UK. Our civilisation as a whole is suffering it's biggest threat since World War 2 but we have one guy here stating we can all be playing Ice Hockey again in a couple of Months. It's utterly ridiculous.

That said if Mardiff are looking for some players I predict the Florida Everblades will be out of business for a couple of years. That State is going to be completely devastated by the end of May.

There’s a lot of doom and gloom around at the minute. I call it realism, a thing that many need to get in to their head. I'll shut up now, apologies for derailing the thread.

This rate Mardiff and the squeelers will vie for a 48 game series between themselves.. at least they get their hockey fix hey.. cant have them missing out..

The trouble with a shortened season is the smaller clubs can’t afford it,because they need the 50-60 game season with a full number of home gates to make it viable. Some costs would reduce in a short season, but bringing imports over costs the same whether they’re playing 60 games or only 20. To make it anything like viable they’ve got to be starting November at the latest and I can’t see that.

Anyway stay safe, stay indoors, and let’s beat this pandemic.

They are expecting the virus to hit hard again in the winter months as well so I can't see much sport happening at all.

There's often a second wave. Have to see how places that have been through the first wave already fare, if the Chinese tell the truth about their numbers...
Like a lot of this, no one anywhere knows enough about it yet to say how it'll pan out from here.
