The EIHL is in about the worst possible place I think unless there is big changes in the next few months. So what should they do then? Give up and chuck it in? Spot on mate.. there isn't a solution for this league to operate during a pandemic no matter what Smith and black try and conjure up!! Unfortunately the league has lots of gullible fans taking in every word! What are people being gullible about? Why is wanting the league to survive so terrible to you? No one's buying tickets are they, it's ok to hope for the best once in a while. How on earth was 4 teams based in 2 rinks all locked down in a bubble for 3 months ever going to work. For one these are hockey players, they’d be breaking the rules inside a fortnight and secondly it would be incredibly boring to watch the same couple of teams every week. Absolutely bonkers ! 🙄 Well you'd have watched every game for one, so you could moan about it on here. Remember the boycott? A grant would have been the lifeline I think. Coming back cheap and dumbing it down might work for some (certainly not me) but they still have the cost of the arena/rink. All those years we laughed about begging buckets might be coming back across the board now.

And Panthers still finished half way down even in a five team league ! 🤣

This is my take on the situation, just my views. When we re-start is anyone’s guess, be it Oct/Nov 21, or Oct/ Nov 22 is surely up in the air, but when it does hopefully re-start myself I think it will be very close to the standard of our last season, and why shouldnt it. Yes it may take hard work but we ain’t aiming at AHL/ Del standards here, if the clubs can also get a bit of grant money like we guys have recieved to help along, then why can’t we still stride to have a decent league, this obviously ain’t for the guys who think the season just past was crap, as to reach their dizzy heights will never be achieved, this is aimed at the guys who want the game to prosper here and to enjoy the sport, not those who only want to shout the league down.Stay Safe All.

In Lehmann terms you'll watch any old rubbish as long as you see back in a rink watching your 'hockey fix' glynn 😉 don't worry certain teams will start spending money like water as soon as the green light is given .. 🤣🙄

That answer is exactly why my post was aimed at hockey fans, and not so much for the sad anti enjoyment organisations. I actually wouldn’t watch any old rubbish as you put it, that’s why I was outside our old rink many moons ago protesting against the team Bob Phillips put on the ice when he ripped so many players off, but my standards obviously don’t hold a candle to your imaginary quality. Anyway the day will come, don’t know when where hockey will return then people like me can get our fix, and people like you can carry on moaning. Stay Safe All./.

‘’ Next season with less people in the building and therefore a much smaller budget we’ll hopefully have the same standard of hockey”......Yeah right O Neil. Lol 😂

So at the moment we have gone from the English clubs having £4 million, and the Welsh/ Irish/Scottish having zilch, to now the Welsh/Irish/Scottish having £200,000 each and the English clubs having Zilch. How weird.

How weird. Jeez £200k each for Dundee and Fife. That’s like giving Panthers and Steelers about £2million apiece, the Scots should be laughing all the way to the bank with that !

It seems strange basketball got something, that hockey so far aint. Basketball can fill out forms on time & all the teams agreed, that's 100% why.

With things looking slightly better, and not taking anything for granted but if progress continues and more people getting vaccinated,, and talks of night clubs possibly opening in a few months, with tongue in cheek who thinks we have a chance of a 21/22 season possibly starting Sept/Oct/Nov that’s 7-9 months time. It’s true things can take a turn for the worse god forbid, but if we can get a steady improvement is it then feasible to think it very well could happen. What do you guys reckon. Stay Safe All.

I have my fingers crossed and even with limited crowds at first. I am hopeful.

Still in the balance tbh. Will there need to be any restrictions next winter..
Then there's international travel. June/July seems to be when outdoor venues will regain fans but I'd still be cautious with crowds in a enclosed space indoors may be limited crowds but I doubt the EIHL can live with that

I think, as long as we dont go backwards at any point we will be back in the arena at full capacity to start next season. If Nightclubs will be opening from 21st June then pretty much anything goes after that.
There really is very little reason we shouldn't have a full arena, with no restrictions come September.

I see it like that too so long as we don't start getting a spike with the virus again

Nice to hear some positivity, like you guys say as long as we don’t go backwards anything is possible. With 7-9 months in between who knows, god willing we may be talking about hockey games in the not too far future, Stay Safe All.

I for one will make the 400 mile trip from south Devon to watch any standard of hockey and sing and shout at the motorpoint. Let’s just hope things don’t regress and the plans laid out go to plan
