If he puts up numbers anything like his brother did for Sheffield, then he will be OK.

On paper he looks to be a good signing and definitely an upgrade on Loiseau. 2x DEL champion, he’s come off a good season in the DEL2, hopefully he can hit the ground running and get us going offensively.

Closer to the type of signing other big teams made over Summer. Arguably the best pedigree on the team and on the wise side of 30. Can’t hurt breaking from current habit.

Yes we should’ve made this sort of signing in the summer but too late for that now, the important thing is we have him now, he brings valuable experience from higher levels throughout his career, is a centre we’ve been crying out for and should make us better for the rest of the year.
Nothing not to like about this announcement, hopefully he has an immediate impact.

The Eispiraten website states he left for 'personal reasons', but also recently he has had hand and back injuries.

The most recent is the back injury. He played 7 out of the team's 15 league games.

Good pedigree, right position. About time, but good signing on the face of it.

Yes good signing if he’s fit and stays fit. But why can’t they sign that sort of pedigree from the start not wait until things have gone wrong. It was obvious in August the roster didn’t have enough quality in it.

Remember in the summer when almost nobody wanted a 30+ has been? 😂 We always lacked pedigree and experience in our forward lines. Every team needs some older, experienced heads.
This looks a good pick up. 1 or 2 more and we could see a much better rest of the season.

Welcome to Nottingham Julian. The type of signing we needed back in the summer. Better late than never I suppose. Hopefully he will stay fit and just as importantly that he is fully fit when he arrives. Played on the same Klagenfurter team in the EBEL as Jon Rheault back in 2017/18 who outscored him. Wonder if Rheault had a hand in getting him here....?

The most recent is the back injury. He played 7 out of the team's 15 league games. "Director of Hockey Gui Doucet spoke to PanthersTV, with Jeremias Chimney Systems, after securing the signature of Jullian Talbot. He says that Jullian, brother of former Sheffield Steeler Joey Talbot, fits what he's been looking for in terms of the continuation of the building of his 2019-20 roster." It seems a bit late to be building!

I am not necessarily expecting massive points from Talbot (he has the pedigree to do so though), I am more optimistic of his work in the face off circle improving us and adding some true 2 way play to our game as at times we are still lacking on the back check.

Quist for me as has to be an import forward to sit. No it doesnt. We are playing 6 import D and Tetlow. Quist hasn't been very good but adding additional skill to the forward lines and new lines may get him going. Id still look to gas him for another forward, but whilst he is here i'd still be looking to make it work with him.

In fairness to Quist he’s been bumped down to the 4th line, but has remained on the power-play, his size in front is a good asset even just as a screen. Personally, for now, I’d go with: Herr - Talbot - Bulmer Golovkovs - Malmquist - Hansen Quist - Perlini - Betteridge Hazeldine/Kelsall - Lacho - Rheault Connelly - DeSantis Deutsch - Fick Tetlow - Matheson I feel harsh leaving Lepine out, because he’s played well of late, but for me we’re too left hand heavy at the back. It’s good to have options though and I’m sure we’ll still rotate the team.
