Watching the current crop of non productive offensive players makes me think back to some of Panthers' previous "pop gun forwards". Please nominate your biggest offensive flop to have worn the Black & Gold ( and green, brown, red etc ) from the post 1980's era. Let's begin the list with Ian Morgan from the mid-1990's.could

I came as a kid in the 90’s and can’t remember much from that far back but from when I starting coming again in 2010 the one that stand out are Matt Carter, Raphael Bussieres and Jon Rheault

Josh Shalla has to be right up there with biggest let downs.

Bussieres has got to be up there. I was promised a swashbuckling power forward who was good for around 20 goals. 🤣🤣🙄

Bruce Graham v2.... Useless without David Ling... as most snipers would be actually.

Alot of these players mentioned weren't terrible players for various reasons they just didnt settle and/or weren't played to their strengths.
Shalla being a prime example...look at his goals output before and after his Panthers stint.
One player who Steelers fans always despised as being horrific... Wes Dorey...got booted.. went on to score a respectable 50 points in 67 games at his new club

Tyler Larter (so brief was his stay he's not even listed as having played a single game for panthers on EP) and Sean "Charley" Farley. Neither of them lasted long (although I see apparently SF scored 6+9 in 6 games?). Anyone else remember Sergei Gavrilenko? (Didn't he have to wear borrowed kit?)
You could also do a thread on players who came in and instantly produced. Jarolav Sevcik has to be right up there for that one. Joe Jensen is the other for me. He tailed off a bit afterwards though.

If I recall correctly Seegei Gavrilenko was signed as temporary import cover because of injury to another impor & was 'the best the club could get at short notice'. Signed from Trafford Metros who were then playing in the 3rd tier- when promotion & relegation was still a thing Played just the 1 weekend for Panthers (2 games 1 assist) From what I remember he was no better or worse than the average brit at the time. Certainly nowhere near as good as the other import forwards in the league.
Ian Morgan was still the worst Panthers import forward for me.
Blaisdell didnt waste any time kicking Larter out the door & Farley wasn't much cop either. Think he went on to play for Solihull & Larter did a mini tour of the country....in 1 season.

I can’t remember another Russian playing for Panthers? Excluding Nemirovsky, of course.

The one i was most disappointed with, although definitely nowhere near the worst....Scott Allison.
Absolutely incredible at Steelers. Just pretty decent at Panthers.

Technically Gavrilenko wasn't Russian. He was/is Ukrainian. We did have another Ukrainian train we Panthers though he never actually played a game. Was a D-man called Anatoli Naida. Played a handful of games for Billingham I think.

I was disappointed with Dody Wood during his time with Panthers; looked great with Ayr the previous season. Scott Allison had a knee injury IIRC during that solitary season.
