Interesting that Lepine sits another game. Wallace and Doucet have recruited well

Deustch has the shot on him that I thought Dylan Olsen would have. Hopefully he keeps it up. Herr is an absolute dynamo thus far too. Very nice early signs.

This is a team that as a fanbase we can get behind. I said at the start of the season that we love blue collar workers. I'd say we've got that but then we've added some flair into the ranks that has the hard work element.
it's very early days but there's positive signs for sure. The big challenge is playing like this past November. Lacho and Perlini look like new players. Lacho is oozing confidence. He looks like the player of 5 years ago. Rheault looks like the player we should have got last season.
I think the shrewdest move of the season is Matheson. He plays the puck well, keeps the PP ticking over and logs huge minutes. He just impresses me.

A 5-1 win away to any team in the league is a top result, the performance was very pleasing tonight though. We turned Dundee over numerous times when they were in transition and, the majority of the time, we quickly turned defence into offence.
There have been some obvious standout players so far, Herr, Deutsch, Connelly etc. but it’s very pleasing to see that Perlini and Lacho are playing with confidence and are being effective. Tetlow and Betteridge have continued to improve, plus, Kelsall and Hazeldine got plenty of ice time tonight, with Joe nearly getting a goal. I know it’s early in the season, and we’ve seen the Panthers start well time and time again, but something feels different right now.
On another note, the squad rotation we have available is going to be very handy this season. Lepine didn’t play tonight but I feel, as with the Guildford game, that it is a tactical decision. I think he’ll be the one who sits out against the less physical teams, Dundee, Guildford and Fife, who utilise their speed and tenacity. Then he’ll be in with a shout against the rest of the teams.
Another option is to utilise two Brit goalies and go with 6 import D plus Tetlow. Kelsall and Hazeldine are also proving to be useful 12th and 13th forwards, in the situation where a forward gets injured they look capable of enabling us to play 4 lines. Typically, it looks as though Malmquist could be injured as he didn’t play in the 3rd period tonight.
Back to the game though, I was impressed tonight and we played some nice, effective hockey. More tomorrow please!

I think it's safe to put that 8-4 defeat to Sheffield as a blip.
I'm trying to not get too excited as it's the start of the season, but this feels different.
We tore Dundee apart with great counter attacks.
The thing was, Dundee didn't play all that badly, Carr made saves and that was the thing that impressed me the most, when they pulled that goal back, they put us under pressure and not only did we ride out the pressure, we extended the lead.
Deutsch has one killer shot on him.
Whilst this team is capable of creating breakaways, they are not putting them away frequently (But that's a minor issue really)
Whilst what happened to the playing staff, coaches and fans of MK Lightning was despicable, I believe we have benefited from it by the fact we got Tim Wallace. Doucet, I believe has impacted The Panthers greatly as well.
Hope this continues, this game was a pleasure to watch

Looks like the team have set off this morning. I think this is going to be a close game. Looks like they didn't have bus legs.
Kind of legitimizes the people who criticized that excuse when the Stars beat us regularly in Dundee

Game sheet seems to list 14, so hopefully that's wrong as usual 😉 You mean 14 imports with Lepine on the sheet by mistake?

I’d take a 5-1 over a 7-2 anyway, looks better on the defence and goalie and that’s what wins championships

Was the first penalty a TEAM one (looks like T on the sheet) and if so who served it? No remarks on the sheet about this.

But, as you say, there has been no news from the club and I can’t say I’ve noticed a ‘C’ in Jon’s jersey.

Lepine was on the ice for warm up. That may have helped to confuse the situation somewhat.

Be nice if when receiving a helpful email that they could reply with a short 'thanks'....but nice to see it's changed now anyway. Shows that either I will have to wait a while to see if there are any changes or more likely just hope people are pointing out the faults so as they get put right. After all (as with statistics) pointless doing them if the endeavor is not to do them right and as watertight as possible.

Picking up Yotes above, the Jakobs face off penalty was the one at 33.15, I think. What was the penalty on the gamesheet at 14.36 for USC? Bench for mouthing at the ref? Who served it? (It's not on the "Events" log on the EIHL website at all.)
