Start this one up again for the inevitable procession Main reason though to mention Glasgow getting a good doing for the second night in a row by Dundee. Away this time, but they (like us and Sheffield you could say) seem to have plenty of work to do at both ends of the ice. On the other hand, great first weekend for Dundee.

Pathetic from us, we have no divine right to win games but we shouldn't be getting hammered either, 13 goals conceded in just 2 domestic games is laughable.

Dundee, I hope, will keep injury free because their team will turn plenty over by the looks of it.

Well, something of a disaster as far as the opening weekend goes. Fitzgerald seemed an odd non Black type of choice as Head Coach. I wonder what is going through their respective minds now as Glasgow's owners and supporters will demand much better. Can "Fitzy" handle the early pressure ?

We are using this thread to discuss other teams rather than separate threads.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure the title has been handed to Sheffield already, so unsure what the Cardiff Devils have to do with anything?

I thought it was Belfast retaining it?

I did say before his appointment he would be the guy to get the job if they couldn't get anyone else. He wouldn't have been my choice simply down to inexpereince, nothing else. Since he is in the job and there's nothing to be done about it, I'll give him a fair chance. While the weekend past was pretty awful, it would be pretty silly to write him or the team off. Clan last year started poorly as well and things turned out okay in the end. Everything else aside, the club simply needs some stability, the revolving door of coaches has resumed since Finnerty was let go, and it needs to stop for a club like us to even have a chance of winning a major cup.

Coventry beat the Steelers in the first game of the season....wow. They’ve also shipped 15 goals in 3 games. Pretty poor considering they’ve got “the best goal tending partnership in the league” according to some. Same two go at it again tomorrow in the SkyDump, be an interesting watch.

While they are sieving goals like they are going out of fashion..
Panthers concede 2 in 120 mins... that's the stat which will make you successful

It’s funny seeing the reactions of some of the Steelers fans. Their concerns are warranted and I’ve seen a lot of them saying that their defence is rubbish etc, but there’s more to it than that.
Looking at the highlights of their game last night there was some poor defensive coverage from them as a team, not just from the defence. Forwards who are giving a 50% back check, forwards who aren’t covering when defenders are applying pressure or leading a rush, along with individual mistakes from O'Connor.
They’ve signed a forward line-up with a lot of offensive talent, but hardly any of them seem to want to work the other way. Now where have we heard that before?
There’s a lot of expectancy from the Dee Dars, and expectancy builds pressure. It’s nice that we seem to by in a different position, where we don’t seem to have much expectancy but we have a team that, so far, is playing for us, as a team. Who knows what could happen this season...

Devils down by 2 to Glasgow in Cardiff, for league points. Plenty of time to go but a potential upset there.

Devils 4-1 down in the 3rd period at home to clan, Belfast losing at home to stars with 2 mins left. Big boys dropping points early?
