All of the ten Elite League teams Head Coaches will be facing pressure this season with the owners and fans keen that their Cub has a "successful" year. Whilst "successful" will be measured in different ways by each club, nobody will be under as much pressure as Steelers' Aaron Fox. The expectations there are always sky-high and particularly so this time around with the assumed budget outlay and the roster assembled. We all know how demanding the Sheffield crowd fan be. If results and performance are sub-par then they imply vote with their feet and stay away. Fox and his side simply have to hit he ground running and nobody will b under the microscope more than him during the coming season. Created and guide a winning team and he will be lauded for his efforts. Failure to challenge and/or entertain and he could be handed his P45 as an early Christmas Box.

A Christmas P45 would cost them dearly, if I remember correctly Fox is on a 3 year deal

ICYMI, there's something wrong with your keyboard. I'd be amazed if Fox is sacked before Christmas. Steelers would have to be bottom half at that stage for that to be even remotely possible, I'd say. All that said, what are we discussing the Steelers' prospects for? Dunno about you, but I'm more interested in the Panthers.

Steelers have the best team on paper for me by some distance. However they have virtually a whole new team and a new coach so i dont have them as title favorites.
If they are within touching distance come the end of the season and go deep in the cups thats a good season. They can build on that and make a real run of the league next year.
Of course Fox could just get it right and blow everyone out the water this year. But EIHL history doesnt seem to favor that option.

I agree with Bobness, I couldn't care where anyone else finishes but Panthers. Or who gets sacked etc. That's for that team and fans to worry about. Think we have enough to think about with Panthers lol
Don't know if you were just trying to create a discussion but it's off topic for me.
For the sake of discussion I think Fox will still be there next season.

Even more so than us, the Yorkie bar is so low he'll struggle to not improve them.

Seems a unwarranted dig at Steelers this to me. We have our own well known problems & expectations to deal with.

Signed on paper one of the best teams I’ve ever seen in this league. Did well at pre season even coming from 3-0 down to win 7-4, I fully expect him to stay there through his contract unless a big opportunity shows for him.

Don't write any cheques you can't cash now. Tell the fanbase you're not even sure yet, but you'll certainly have a go...

One who still 'gets' the rivalry, clearly. Personally I don't mind them one bit.... Well other than the divot on the microphone & 80% of their fan base obviously. Now Mardiff.... oh, they get my juices going.

Good tickets still available!
